Donald Trump Jr. attacks Biden for not curing cancer yet: ‘I haven’t seen much movement on that’

Donald Trump Jr. slammed President Joe Biden on Saturday for failing to meet his campaign promise of eradicating cancer in his first 10 months in office.

In an interview with FOX News‘ Don Bongino, Trump said of the president: ‘He was also going to cure cancer, if I remember correctly.

‘Everyone said, “‘Oh that’s great, we should definitely elect him,” Trump recounted of Biden’s 2019 campaign pledge. ‘I haven’t seen much movement on that.’

Biden had promised on the campaign trail in 2019 he would eradicate cancer if he were elected president.

‘A lot of you understand what loss is, and when loss occurs, you know that people come up to you and tell you “I understand,” if you lose a husband,, a wife, a son, a daughter, a family member,’ he said at a campaign stop in Iowa.

‘That’s why I’ve worked so hard in my career to make sure that — I promise you if I’m elected president, you’re going to see the single most important thing that changes America: We’re going to cure cancer.’

Biden had been fighting for increased research into cancer treatment since his son, Beau, was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2013.

He was tasked with overseeing the government’s Cancer Moonshot task force when he was vice president, and after he left office, the former vice president launched the Biden Cancer Initiative to build upon the government’s efforts.

More recently, he asked Congress for $6.5 billion to fund a new agency called Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, to propel breakthrough treatments for diseases like cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

And in September, Biden announced the appointment of seven clinicians and researchers to the National Cancer Advisory Board.

Donald Trump Jr. also lamented to Bongino that there have not been widespread riots against COVID vaccine mandates in the United States, as there have been in Europe. Germans are seen here protesting the government's move for another lockdown on November 6

But Biden’s failure to cure cancer was not the only concern the former first son expressed in his interview on FOX News on Saturday – he also lamented to Bongino that there have not been widespread riots against COVID vaccine mandates and lockdowns in the United States, as there have been in Europe.

‘You don’t hear about what’s going on as it relates to the riots in Europe on a daily basis now against the vaccine mandates, because our media wants to block that out,’ Trump claimed, despite several American outlets covering the protests.

‘They’re going to make sure that you never hear about it because they don’t want you getting these kinds of ideas that freedom may actually exist in some parts of the world.

‘I mean, Europe is pushing back, and America is sitting there like sheep – “Oh this is great, we’ll just go along with what these guys who’ve gotten nothing right in the last two years tell us.

‘It’s absolute insanity.’

The protests in Europe came as governments there were considering a fresh round of lockdowns as the coronavirus continues to spread across the continent.

It has resulted in at least 19 arrests outside the Hague, according to CNN, with five police officers taken to a hospital for concussions and two suffering from hearing damage from loud fireworks.

Similar, widespread protests broke out in Austria, Croatia, Italy and Germany.

Meanwhile, in the United States, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Jeff Zients assured the public last week that there is no need for the US to go into lockdowns or shut down the economy.

‘We are not headed in that direction. We have the tools to accelerate the path out of this pandemic; widely available vaccinations, booster shots, kid shots, therapeutics,’ Zients told reporters.

‘We can curb the spread of the virus without having to in any way shut down our economy.’

As of November 23, the number of new cases in the United States held steady at 100,636, while the number of new deaths declined to 1,504.

Nearly 70 percent of all Americans have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control, and 59.1 percent are fully vaccinated.
