How can I clean my couch in six steps?
1. Start by spraying couch with warm water
2. Sprinkle with baking soda
3. Use a damp cloth to work in the baking soda
4. Let it dry
5. Time to vacuum
6. Use rubbing alcohol to finish
Carolina then vacuums the couch, making sure to get into every crease.
The mum then sprays the entire surface again, this time with rubbing alcohol.

But others rejected the mum’s technique arguing baking soda would destroy their vacuum cleaners.
‘Don’t put baking soda on your furniture. It is too fine of a powder that will FOREVER be in there, plus it will destroy the filter in your vacuum cleaner.
‘Don’t ask me how I know. Had to buy new vacuum and get furniture professionally deep cleaned,’ one woman said.

Others thanked her for her comment.
‘I was just about to try this,’ said one.
As another said she tried a similar method a year ago and is still vacuuming up the powder.
‘And I had to get a new vacuum,’ she added.
