Woman, 22, filmed abusing passengers on train says she ‘lost the plot’

A woman who hurled racist abuse on a train admits she ‘lost the plot’ after rejecting a passenger’s sexual advances – and was called a ‘whore’ for being scantily dressed.

Hassina Ahmed, who is a Muslim, was seen in the shocking footage calling one traveller a ‘f****** Algerian c***’ before threatening to ‘knock him out’ on a train near West Ham underground station just after 11pm on July 16.

Supporting a ‘death before dishonour’ tattoo she continued to unleash the foul-mouthed racist tirade before confronting the man who is recording the encounter and calling him a ‘n*****’.

She is also seen getting into a physical altercation with him as horrified passengers look on.

But Ms Ahmed, insisted that she is not racist and that she was enraged after the Algerian traveller attempted to chat her up and also asked for her number.

She told MailOnline: ‘He was giving me the eye when I got on the train and was trying to chat me up and asked for my number. I told him to leave me alone because I’m Muslim.

‘When I said that he started screaming at me: “What sort of Muslim woman are you? Look at the way you’re dressed. You’re showing off your body. You’re a whore, you should be ashamed of yourself.”‘

Ms Ahmed, 22, added: ‘I became really angry and had to defend myself. I’m proud to be a Muslim woman and there’s nothing in the religion that says that we have to cover up. It’s nobody’s business how I dress.’

Looking back at the incident, she admitted that she could have ‘handled it better’.

Ms Ahmed revealed that she suffers from autism, is on anti-depressants and on the night of the incident last Friday, she had been at a friend’s house drinking.

She admitted: ‘I was quite intoxicated by the time I got on the train. But it was the Algerian who got me really angry. I’m sorry that I got so worked up and lost control. I don’t usually drink that much and don’t plan to do that again.’

Ms Ahmed, who lives in East London and is unable to work because of her mental health, said that her mother is Colombian while her father is a Muslim from Kenya.

She denied that she is racist and defended her use of the ‘n’ word.

She protested: ‘How can I be racist? I’m half black myself. Do you honestly think that I would pick a fight with two random men on the train because I’ve got something against black people?

‘There was clearly a reason why I became so angry, but the video doesn’t tell you the whole story. The guy who filmed it only recorded one part of it and you don’t see what started this whole thing off.’

She added: ‘I don’t want people to think I’m a monster. They need to know the truth about what happened.’

When asked about continually using the ‘n’ word, she said: ‘I didn’t mean it in a derogatory way. My friends use it all the time when referring to each other and most of them are black. I live in East London and it’s commonly used by all races.

‘I didn’t use the ‘n’ word to abuse any of the passengers. That’s just the language that we use in my world.’

She said that her tattoo was not designed to intimidate anybody but was a celebration of her South American roots.

She added: ‘My mum has got the same tattoo, it’s something that a lot of people in Colombia have. But people are trying to make out that it’s proof that I’m some kind of nutter.’
