Socialite Jasmine Hartin is arrested AGAIN while reporting to a Belizean police station

This was the moment socialite Jasmine Hartin was dramatically re-arrested just hours after breaking her silence to tell DailyMail.com of her horror at ‘accidentally’ killing a top Belizean cop.

Hartin, 32, who is awaiting trial for shooting Superintendent Henry Jemmott with his own service pistol, was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon when she reported to a police station as part of her daily bail requirements.

Amid chaotic scenes at the San Ignacio police station, the mother-of-two pleaded with officers that she had done nothing wrong before being led away to face the prospect of returning to a grim Belizean prison.

The details of the charge were not immediately clear but it comes after Hartin clashed with her partner Andrew Ashcroft, the son of Britain’s Lord Ashcroft, on Tuesday afternoon when she tried to see their four-year-old twins Elle and Charlie.

Earlier this week, Hartin filmed on her cell phone as she confronted Andrew at the Alaia hotel. ‘Why won’t you let me see the kids Andrew? Why won’t you let me see the children?’ she says as she chased him in the hotel kitchen

Hartin had filmed on her cell phone as she cornered her partner of seven years in a hotel restaurant, repeatedly asking him: ‘Why won’t you let me see the kids Andrew? Why won’t you let me see the children?’

She later told DailyMail.com that she was warned by her attorney that authorities would seek to revoke her bail over the confrontation that happened at the swank Alaia Belize resort in San Pedro island, which she operated with Andrew before Jemmot’s death.

That’s exactly what happened as she arrived for her daily check-in appointment, with her mom Candice Castiglione looking on in disbelief.

‘I’m being detained for something in San Pedro. I’m not sure why,’ a stunned Hartin called out to DailyMail.com from behind the front desk.

‘This is illegal, I’m being detained illegally right now. I don’t know what this charge is. It’s an unknown charge from someone in San Pedro. I have no idea why I’m being held.

‘All I did was try to collect my personal belongings and see my children. I have obeyed every single court order. I have done absolutely nothing wrong here.’

Video shot by DailyMail.com reveals Hartin begging to know what she had done to breach her $30,000 Belizean dollar bail ($15,000 US).

An officer replies: ‘According to San Pedro Police you’re detained for common assault.’ Asked whom she was accused of assaulting the officer adds: ‘I cannot comment.’

Hartin is now likely to be taken back to austere Hattieville Prison, which once featured on the Netflix documentary ‘Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons.’

She spent eight days there before being bailed on June 9 when she was warned by a judge she could be thrown back behind bars unless she signed in with police daily and handed over her ID and passport.

‘Being in prison is easier than being away from my children. I would go to prison every day if it meant I could have my kids,’ Hartin added before she was led away to a cell.

‘This is horrible. The worst thing that he’s ever done to me is take my kids,’ she added in an apparent reference to Andrew Ashcroft.

Hartin’s mom Candice Castiglione, 66, had flown in from Ontario to support her daughter and was with her when she tried to see her children Tuesday.

She told DailyMail.com she was baffled by the assault accusation as she did not see Hartin push or make contact with security staff.

‘If there was any physical contact you would be able to see it on the videos. Jasmine didn’t push anyone or abuse anyone, she was a lady the whole time,’ she told DailyMail.com.

Castiglione said she desperately wants news about her daughter’s latest incarceration but is afraid to speak to Belizean police.

‘This is all made up. I’m worried they will disappear her,’ she alleged. ‘I’m the only one who has been able to help her but I’m afraid to go back to the police station.’

Jemmott, a 24-year veteran of the Belize Police Department, leaves behind five children and a partner of 14 years, described by family as his common-law wife. His funeral service was held on June 12, nearly two weeks after her was shot dead

Jemmott, a father-of-five and a highly-rated officer tipped as a future leader of his country’s police force, was struck behind his right ear by a 9mm round from his own Glock 17 service pistol.

According to a criminal complaint he had been ‘socializing’ and drinking alone with Hartin on a secluded hotel pier in Ambergris Caye, a tropical island haven for millionaire expats.

A security guard heard a ‘loud bang’ at 12:45am and police arrived to find Canadian national Hartin ‘covered in red substance as that of blood’ and Jemmott, 42, floating dead on his back 30ft from the shore.

An expended shell casing was still lodged inside the gun which was found on the Mata Rocks hotel pier along with a magazine, live bullets and a pool of blood.

After spending the weekend behind bars, Hartin gave a statement in the presence of her attorney, Godfrey Smith, saying the off-duty officer was showing her how to handle his firearm as the pair drank and hung out

In her exclusive interview earlier Thursday with DailyMail.com she reiterated her version of events, saying the gun went off unexpectedly in her hands as she tried to re-insert a clip and hand it back.

‘Henry was my friend. It was an accident, I didn’t flee the scene. The first thing I did was call the police myself,’ she said.

‘There’s literally not a day that goes by when I don’t cry and my frigging chest doesn’t hurt and ache for his kids, for his family, for him.’

She also revealed for the first time that the reason she was practicing with the gun was because an unnamed man had tried to rape her at a party six days earlier.

Three days after Jemmott’s death Hartin was charged with manslaughter by negligence after prosecutors opted against murder or full-fledged manslaughter on the strength of her witness statement insisting it was an accident.

The offence carries a maximum prison sentence of nine months or a fine of around 10,000 Belizean dollars ($5,000 in US money).

Instead of being released on bail, however, petite Hartin was taken on a boat to mainland Belize and spent eight days at notorious Hattieville.

When she was finally released she remained at a secure location near San Ignacio, close to the Guatemalan border, rather than returning to live with her family.

She claims relations between herself and Andrew hit rock bottom Tuesday when Hartin travelled to San Pedro to see her kids only for security to block her from entering the Grand Colony resort, where their marital home is.

‘I didn’t go there looking for a fight. I went there hoping to see my children whom I have been denied access to, and to collect my things,’ she later told DailyMail.com.

‘The authorities are now trying to claim that I breached my parole by behaving inappropriately. But there is nothing to say I can’t see my children. There are no custody proceedings.’
