The aim of the campaign is for music lessons to be a standard part of the curriculum at every primary school in the Netherlands.

Trainee primary teachers will need to gain enough confidence to make music and learn the technical skills to teach the subject.

The new grant scheme will give schools an incentive to provide high-quality music education for their students.

An important condition is that they work together with colleges of music.

Applications for projects under the grant scheme must show how the school intends to make high-quality music education a permanent fixture in teacher training.

Willem-Alexander and Maxima got engaged in March 2001 and tied the knot in a grandiose ceremony in February 2002.

At the time, the fact that Maxima, who was a 28-year-old economist, was the daughter of Jorge Zorreguieta, who served as Secretary of Agriculture under General Jorge Rafael Videla, during Argentina’s military dictatorship raised eyebrows.

Hello Magazine reported in 2016 that Willem-Alexander put his foot down and was so set on marrying Maxima he was ready to renounce the throne to be her husband.

Maxima, who was born in Buenos Aires endeared herself to the Dutch people thanks to her warm personality and the nuptials went ahead on February 2 2002 at Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam church.

Willem-Alexander became King of the Netherlands in April 2013 following the abdication of his mother Queen Beatrix.

Maxima and Willem-Alexander have been married for 19 years and share three daugthers. Their engagement was met with controversy because Maxima's father, Jorge Zorreguieta, served as Secretary of Agriculture under General Jorge Rafael Videla, during Argentina's military dictatorship
