AFL star Nathan Jones and his wife Jerri have revealed they’re expecting twins.

The couple, who last year revealed they suffered three heartbreaking miscarriages, made the sweet announcement on Instagram on Friday.

In a heartwarming video their two children, daughter Bobbi and son Remy, are seen reacting to the news with smiles beaming, before hugging their mum.

‘We are so incredibly excited to announce we have twins on the way!’ Jerri wrote on Instagram.

‘It was a journey to get here, we are overjoyed and beyond grateful to grow our family by two. Our hearts are full.’

Meanwhile, Nathan added: ‘Our little family will be complete with Jones Twins on the way later this year.’

Last October, the wife of Melbourne Demons veteran Nathan bravely revealed she’d suffered three consecutive miscarriages. 

She shared her private pain, which at the time coincided with International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

At the time, Jerri revealed she had a dilation and curettage procedure earlier in the day after she tragically suffered another miscarriage. 

‘Although I’m usually a very private person, it seems fitting, on all days to share,’ her  heartfelt post read.

Sadly, one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage.

Around 106,000 babies are lost to miscarriage, stillbirth and newborn death in Australia each year, according to support organisation Sands.

She added she was grateful for her two beautiful and healthy children, daughter Bobbi, six, and son Remi, five, and feels deeply for other families who have not been so lucky.

The fashion label businesswoman invited other women who have experienced pregnancy loss to share their stories or comment with an angel emoji.

‘Sending love to anyone that needs it today,’ she ended the post.

Her husband of eight years shared the photo his wife uploaded to share the heartbreaking news.

‘Lucky is to have you x,’ he captioned his Instagram story, along with heart and angel emojis. 

Jerri was flooded with messages of support from other footy WAGS, including Kylie Brown, Emma Hawkins, Abbie Vince, Lucy Lewis, Jessica Gawn, Samantha Jetta, Charlotte Viney and Sarah Roughead.

‘Been thinking of you so much. So many will benefit from your shared story. You are amazing. Big love to you and Nath,’ Bec Judd wrote.

‘I have had five miscarriages consecutively since having my two daughters. It’s such a harrowing time. Sending love and you will help more than you know, sharing your loss,’ one mum wrote.

Nathan has played 294 games for the Demons since 2006 and was club captain for six years until he stepped down for the role at the end of last season. 

He and Jerri have been together since Year 12 and married in 2012.
