Kayleigh McEnany named co-host of Fox News’ Outnumbered

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is joining Fox News‘ Outnumbered as a full-time co-host.

The network announced McEnany’s new appointment in a press release on Tuesday, saying that beginning April 6, the newly minted presenter will appear alongside Outnumbered’s founding anchor Harris Faulkner, co-host Emily Compagno, and a series of rotating panelists.

The move comes just weeks after McEnany, 32, joined Fox News as an on-air political commentator, appearing on Fox & Friends, America Reports and The Five.

Prior to that, McEnany served 10 months as press secretary in the administration of President Donald Trump.

‘I am thrilled to join the incredible women of Outnumbered and look forward to working alongside the talented Harris Faulkner and Emily Compagno as we discuss the top issues impacting the country,’ McEnany said in a statement released by the network.

In making the announcement, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott invoked McEnany’s ‘unique background in politics and law,’ along with her experience as a new mother.

‘We are delighted to welcome her back to FOX News where she began her media career,’ Scott stated.

According to Nielsen Media Research data, as cited by the network, Outnumbered is the most watched cable news program in its 12-1pm timeslot and has also nearly doubled its viewership since premiering in 2014.

McEnany is following in the footsteps of other Trump White House alumni, including former economic adviser Larry Kudlow, who launched a daily show on Fox Business last month, and the ex-president’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump, who made her first appearance as a paid contributor on Fox & Friends on Monday.

McEnany began her media career as an intern at Fox News and later became a production assistant before entering Harvard Law School. She also holds a degree in international politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Affairs and studied politics and international relations at Oxford University, St. Edmund Hall.

In the run-up to the 2016 election, McEnany worked as a political analyst for CNN and was critical of then-candidate Trump.

But after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, McEnany became a fierce supporter of the 45th president of the United States and was tapped to become national spokesperson for the Republican National Committee the next year.

After working for President Trump’s re-election campaign, she was hired as White House press secretary in April 2020, replacing Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

She got her start in politics as an intern for former Rep. Adam Putnam, a Republican from Florida, and later, in the White House Office of Media Affairs during President George W. Bush’s administration.
