Mother uses Aldi’s cake mix to create a stunning birthday cake for her daughter

An Australia mother has wowed the internet after revealing the incredible two-tiered cake she made for her daughter from an Aldi packet mix.

The mum’s stunning creation featured a vibrant peach-coloured drip icing, some pink roses and pink edible decorations like strawberry Lindt chocolate balls and meringues.

She also revealed she added 430grams of white chocolate to the milk, melting it in the microwave then allowing it to cool, before adding 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence and stirring it through the cake mix.

She also made most of the decorations herself, cutting the fondant, baking the meringues and covering strawberries in chocolate.

Thousands of home cooks reacted to the post, with many assuming she is ‘a professional’.

‘Thankyou, nope, not a professional. But I have been doing cakes for friends and family for a lot of years now,’ she said.

Another woman shared pictures of some beautifully decorated cupcakes – and revealed the Aldi packet mix is also her go-to.

PROFESSIONAL BAKER REVEALS HER TIPS FOR THE BEST CAKES

Katherine Sabbath is a self-taught cake maker who has amassed a huge following online for her colourful and creative cakes.

She has revealed her top tips for ‘getting it right’ when making and decorating a cake for your loved ones. Her top tips are as follows:

1 – Get to know your oven – this will make it easier for you to time your cakes so they are not too dry or under done.

2 – Invest in a cake scraper and cake turne – these two tools can save time and a lot of broken cakes.

3 – Bake cakes ahead of time – This part can be time consuming and cakes are easier to work with once they have cooled or been frozen.

4 – Freeze buttercream frosting – This can be especially helpful in summer, or when you need the frosting to be extra firm.
