With another remarking: ‘didn’t even recognise Lenny Henry, he’s lost so much weight’

‘Lenny Henry looks YOUNG’ tweeted a third watcher.

Lenny, 62, put on a dapper display as he took to the socially distanced stage in a grey suit and shirt, quickly joking around with his fellow co-hosts.

However in a funny twist Daisy then also started a confessional on the other side of the booth admitting she’d stolen something – hilariously producing Connell’s chain.

In another twist, the trio then all started singing Boyzone’s tune Words.

Twitter users were blown away by Paul’s vocal talents, with the actor easily nailing each note and performing for the camera.

To finish the impressive sketch, Andrew’s Hot Priest was seen walking away from the church with Connell’s chain, which has become quite the cult item, in his hand.

The evening was also filled with some music treats, with the cast of West End musical Back To The Future giving a special performance jam-packed with some timely Covid jokes.

And The Marsh Family, who went viral in previous lockdowns with their videos, also performed a rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart followed by Justin Bieber who rocked a pink cardigan while singing his latest single.

Harry Styles’ video to Treat People With Kindness was also shown alongside a series of clips from the nation boogying along to the feel-good tune.

Elsewhere on the night, Matt Lucas styled as Gary Barlow joined the real-life Take That star to make their own version of The Crooner Sessions.

However after duetting Matt was less than impressed with the singer’s dulcet tones, telling him: ‘You’ve ruined it, out of tune, ruined that like you ruined my life… Actually I’ll blame this pandemic on you. You’ve made it worse!’

Another stand-out moment from the night saw Oti Mabuse join a slew of stars including Ant and Dec and Sophie Ellis-Bextor in recreating Bridget Jones’ heartbreak scene in a hilarious spoof video for Comic Relief.

In scenes aired on Friday night, the Strictly star, 30, sat on a mountain of clothes as she sang her heart out to All By Myself. Oti imitated guzzling a bottle of wine as she held up a water bottle while lip-syncing to the track.

Meanwhile, Mel Giedroyc, 52, looked the spitting image of Renee Zellwegger’s character as she sat on her sofa in Christmas pyjamas with a tissue stuffed up her nose.

Mel was also seen lounging on the sofa during one of Joe Wicks’ workouts, declaring ‘everyones bored of your bunny hops mate give it a rest’ as she ate a slice of pizza and chatted to her Bake Off pal Sue Perkins.

BBC bosses even managed to get Friends actor David Schwimmer, 54, to take part in the parody.

A host of A-List stars also grouped together for Jack Whitehall’s sketch on the woes of a year of using Zoom and video calls with multiple people.

Idris Elba, Kiera Knightley, Jonathan Ross and Anya Taylor-Joy were all seen trying to log into the call before Olivia Colman also hopped onto the call – late.

After all realising they’d forgotten their Red Noses, leaving host Jack rather frustrated, the call ended with Hugh Grant appearing and joking: ‘Sorry everyone, am I late?’

And although being filled with funny sketches and entertaining scenes, the night also highlighted the important work funded by the money raised by Comic Relief.

Host David Tennant even got a little emotional after watching a touching montage of the past year set to tune Sunshine on Leith.

Getting a bit choked up as he started to speak, the actor told viewers: ‘None of us would have seen this year coming- all the suffering and sacrifice- but also kindness and love.’

Also joining the celebrity-filled show was singer Charlotte Church, who looked sensational as she put on a busty display in a sparkling nude dress.

The star, who recently confirmed the birth of her third child, was seen on stage as she helped five comedians perform an opera song.

Alex Booker, Jennifer Saunders, Andi Osho, Jayne Adams, and Caroline Quentin were tested to their limits when they agreed to learn an aria in just 24 hours for charity.

And the comics had nothing to worry about as they managed to smash their performance on the night, leaving Charlotte beaming with their efforts.
