Nurse who fainted after COVID vaccine is targeted by conspiracy theorists who say she’s dead

The family of a Tennessee nurse who fainted on live TV after getting her COVID-19 vaccine say she is being harassed by conspiracy theorists who are peddling the false claim that she is now dead.

Tiffany Dover, a 30-year-old nurse manager at the CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, fainted after receiving her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on December 18.

Dover explained at the time that she was prone to fainting due to a medical condition but conspiracy theorists immediately latched on and have been claiming ever since that the vaccine killed her.

In response to the false claims that she is dead, her family and the CHI Memorial Hospital have repeatedly said that Dover is fine and working regularly shifts.

The hospital shared a video on December 21 showing Dover with her colleagues to stop the rumors and she was also pictured on the front page of a local newspaper last week with a COVID-19 patient who was treated at the hospital.

The conspiracy theorists, however, still refuse to believe that she is alive.

They have been inundating the social media pages of Dover’s family with comments accusing them of lying about her health.

Dover’s family says the harassment they have been facing is so intense that they couldn’t even go on a vacation at Christmas, the Daily Beast reports.

Her sister-in-law eventually snapped last month, telling the conspiracy theorists that Dover was ‘alive and fine’ after they started commenting on photos of the family celebrating the holidays.

‘All of y’all stop acting like your entitled to know anything. It’s none of your dang business. I’m honestly disgusted with people right now. We can’t even go on a family vacation for Christmas without being harassed. I’m sick of it. TIFFANY IS ALIVE AND FINE’, she wrote.

Dover’s brother-in-law had shared a link to a story that debunked the claims that the nurse had died after taking the vaccine.

One person wrote to him: ‘How much money do they pay you all that you post this? She is dead and you know it’.

Another wrote: ‘Your entire family is disgusting that you don’t let Tiffany speak herself!’

Others have even suggested trying to go to Dover’s house to personally check that she is alive.

‘Why isn’t anyone that lives close to her figuring out where her kids go to school or where her husband works or where they live and waiting and trying to snap a picture of her coming or going?!?’ one wrote.

The whole saga unfolded after Dover fainted just moments after she received the COVID-19 vaccine during a televised event back on December 19.

She was among the first at the hospital to receive the vaccine.

Dover was speaking to local news outlet News Channel 9 when she suddenly started feeling unwell.

‘It’s really… I’m sorry I’m feeling really dizzy. I’m sorry…,’ she said before dropping to the ground while two colleagues rushed to catch her.

After recovering, Dover revealed she often faints when she feels pain.

In the days that followed social media users immediately started sharing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube posts claiming that Dover died.

The claim also appeared on Reddit, on a subreddit devoted to conspiracy theories, and on a website claiming to show obituaries of deceased people.

Some posts used screenshots of Dover’s Facebook and Instagram accounts to claim she must be dead because she hadn’t posted in several days.

Following the widespread claims, the CHI Memorial Hospital tweeted to confirm Dover was fine.

“UPDATE: Nurse Tiffany Dover appreciates the concern shown for her,” the tweet read. “She is home and doing well. She asks for privacy for her and her family.”

In a follow tweet from December 21, the hospital confirmed Dover was still doing well and shared a video of her posing with colleagues.

A hospital spokeswoman has repeatedly said Dover has been working regular shifts at the facility.
