JoJo Siwa board game pulled for ‘inappropriate’ questions about nudity, getting arrested, & TWERKING

A JoJo Siwa game is being pulled from shelves at the urging of the 17-year-old star after parents complained that it included inappropriate questions about dating, twerking, being naked, and getting arrested.

Earlier this week, a concerned mother took to TikTok to share photos and video of the children’s game JoJo’s Juice, which is marketed toward kids six and up — but encourages kids to talk about whether they’ve ever stolen anything or ‘earned the art of twerking.’

The concerning TikTok clips have gone viral, prompting a response from JoJo herself — who insisted that she had no idea the game was so inappropriate and ‘never ever, ever’ would have approved of it if she’d been aware.

Mother Heather Watson went viral for bringing the concerning Truth or Dare style game to the internet’s attention over the weekend.

‘My daughter got this for Christmas… I need an explanation,’ she said.

Here, she showed photos of several of the game cards, which each include one ‘truth’ and one ‘dare.’

Questions to answer for ‘truth’ include: ‘Have you ever stolen from a store?’; ‘Have you ever walked in on someone naked or had someone walk in on you?’; ‘Who in this room would you most like to date?’; ‘Have you ever been arrested?’; ‘Have you ever taken money from someone’s purse or wallet without asking?’; ‘Have you ever gone outside without underwear (a bathing suit doesn’t count)?’; and ‘Have you ever stolen from a store?’

Other cards talk about ‘learn[ing] the art of twerking’ and ‘kiss[ing] a boy.’

Another question reads: 'Have you ever walked in on someone naked or had someone walk in on you?'

Heather’s video has been viewed 3.5 million times, while other social media users have shared their own concerns on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

‘I’d toss this game out if you have for your littles,’ wrote Missy Hammond. ‘This is truly disgusting.’

On Monday, JoJo responded with her own TikTok video.

‘Over the weekend, it’s been brought to my attention by my fans and followers on TikTok that my name and my image have been used to promote this board game that has really inappropriate content,’ she said.

‘Now, when companies make these games, they don’t run every aspect by me, and so I had no idea of the types of questions that were on these playing cards.

‘Now when I first saw this, I was really, really, really upset at how gross these questions were, and so I brought it to Nickelodeon’s attention immediately and since then, they have been working to get this game stop being made, and also pulled from all shelves wherever it’s being sold.

‘I hope you all know that I would have never ever, ever approved or agreed to be associated with this game if I would have seen these cards before they started selling it.’

Since then, Nickelodeon and manufacturer Spin Master, which released the game in 2018, have shared a joint message with Insider confirming that the game has been pulled.

‘We respect and value the relationship JoJo Siwa has with her fans and take the concerns raised regarding the game “JoJo’s Juice” very seriously,’ they said.

‘This game is no longer being manufactured and we have requested that retailers pull any remaining product from their shelves.’

In December, JoJo revealed that her whole family caught the virus this year, but have all since recovered.

The teen superstar told Entertainment Tonight: ‘I did end up getting it, the big, dreaded COVID-19. It got through my whole family.

‘We had headaches, we were tired, we had shortness of breath — we had all the things. All my family actually lost their taste and smell, but all have it back. But I never did.

‘Everyone who gets this virus, it’s gonna affect them differently. We were all, like, three days apart,’ she added.

JoJo had previously told her Instagram followers she felt ‘sicky sick’ on November 19, though it’s unclear when she and her family were diagnosed with COVID-19.

On November 28, she appeared at WonderLAnd, a holiday drive-thru adventure where she performed a Christmas-themed car parade.
