Florida man Marty Scott Bass, 57, was arrested December 16 when police arrived to his Walton County home to serve a search warrant and allegedly discovered child pornography on his phone
Marty Scott Bass 57, was arrested on December 16 when police arrived to his Defuniak Springs home to serve a search warrant.
Officers say they found more than 100 images of child pornography on his phone – and a underground lair under his shed with an entrance disguised as a bench.
Bass was charged with 100 count of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of child pornography production.
Though Bass was arrested earlier this month the sheriff’s office didn’t announce details of the case until Tuesday.
When Walton County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit first arrived to the home, Bass answered the door holding a shotgun.
After commands by SWAT team members to stand down he put the weapon down and was detained.
Officers went to the home a following a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
During the search Bass’s cellphone was located and forensically downloaded and evaluated and investigators say they found the device contained more than 100 images of child pornography.

Officials say some of the images were produced by Bass, and depicted children between the ages of eight to 10.

Bass is being held at the Walton County jail and his bond is set at $1million.
