Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew reveals her husband being made redundant was ‘good timing’

Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew and her husband  on-line two years, Neil Varcoe, welcomed ones first child together, daughter Molly, in December last year.

Pests 37-year-old newsreader has revealed that despite having 2020 being a turbulent year for quite a few, she feels lucky to have spent that much quality time with her family.

‘It’s been a strange year for american, because in many ways, it’s been really good right time to, ‘ she told Monday’s worry of TV Week magazine .

‘My husband was made redundant around the same time the lockdown happened,’ she added.

Despite this professional setback, Edwina said she cherished the few months she and Neil were able to spend together as a family while he stayed at home.

On Saturday, Edwina and Neil celebrated Molly’s first birthday with close family and friends.

‘The happiest sausage in Sydney turned one today. Happy Birthday Molly,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘Thank you for being the best Christmas present we could have ever wished for. I have so loved being your mum, being perpetually covered in pumpkin and even being so bone-tired at times I felt completely bonkers. Still am and still do.’ 

It comes after Edwina shared a refreshingly candid confession on Friday about the first night she spent away from her daughter.

She wrote in a op-ed for  The Daily Telegraph :   ‘Being a parent can be suffocating usually, no time to yourself and the demands to the loo always open.

‘I’ve had one dancing away from her this year and I’m also not ashamed to say it was wondrous. ‘

However , he or she did admit that by the end with all the evening she was ‘scrolling through’ photos of her child to impress her phone.
