Kate Silverton recreates stunning wedding photos with husband Mike Heron

She lost a staggering two-and-a-half stone during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

And Kate Silverton has slipped back into her wedding dress to recreate a photo from her wedding day following her staggering weight loss.

The BBC newsreader, 50, looked every inch a bride in her Pronovias silk and lace Mikado gown, ahead of celebrating her 10th anniversary with husband Mike Heron.

The smitten pair, who share two children, returned to St Paul’s Cathedral to recreate their wedding snaps during a photoshoot for Hello! magazine.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star’s beau cut a dapper figure in the same morning suit that he wore for their nuptials almost a decade earlier.

The longtime couple originally had their wedding pictures taken outside the picturesque London landmark, after tying the knot at Fleet Street’s St Bride’s Church.

Speaking about recreating the special moment, Kate revealed that she felt like a ‘princess’ being able to slip into her gorgeous gown once more.

She told Hello! magazine: ‘Being back in my wedding dress is heaven, I love it. It made me feel like a princess then, and to be able to wear it again when I’ve had two children has really made me smile.’

The broadcaster also opened up about losing two-and-a-half stone during lockdown, saying she feels ‘so much better’ since dropping the weight.

Instead of slipping into unhealthy habits amid the coronavirus pandemic, Kate took up trampolining, bought a racer bike and got a ‘good nutritionist’.

She explained: ‘I was either going to put on two-and-a-half stone during lockdown or lose it, and I’ve lost it. It was a conscious decision and I knew I had to focus.

‘I bought myself a racer bike, a trampoline and some Tracy Anderson DVDs and I got a good nutritionist. I have been eating at specific times and trying to get more sleep.

‘I feel so much better in myself. I’m feeling as fit and well as I possibly can at this time of my life.

‘That’s all we can ever want – to feel our best self at whatever age we’re at and to be able to celebrate that.’

And gushing about her husband, Kate said she knew the former Royal Marine Heron was ‘the one’ when they met some 15 years ago.

The TV presenter first met Mike when she attended one of his war zone training courses, saying she had ‘no doubts’ that he was her ‘soulmate’ when they wed.

She said: ‘I knew I’d married my soulmate. I had no doubts.

‘It took me a long time to get there, but when I met Mike I knew he was the one. He brings me peace and I never tire of talking to him.’

Speaking about her weight loss to the Daily Mail last month, Kate revealed that she managed to lose two stone just in time for her 50th birthday.

She explained: ‘I turned 50 and I did mark that by saying I want to look as well as I can.’

Kate went on to admit that while juggling her job, homeschooling her two children and writing a book she ‘got to that point when you have no spare reserves’.

She continued: ‘I got one of those rebounder trampolines. I was studying how toxic stress sits in the body so the jumping up and down helped.’

The star has also recently completed a 50-lap swimming challenge to raise funds for Children In Need and Girlguiding amid her fitness drive.

Kate, who shares kids Clemency, nine, and Wilbur, six, with her husband, had five years of failed IVF attempts after the couple began trying for a baby.

She had all but resigned herself to never having children when Clemency was conceived naturally two years after they married.
