Gary Lineker’s younger brother has paid tribute to the England legend on his 60th birthday by sharing a series of previously unseen childhood photos.
Lineker, who reached the milestone on November 30th, had been inundated with messages from fans throughout the day – with many drawing attention to his illustrious playing career.
And brother Wayne, 58, recalled their early years in Leicester, where the Match Of The Day host’s football career began with local side Leicester City in 1976.

Sharing a series of old photos with followers, he wrote: ‘Happy Birthday 60th big bro ..I will always be proud of you. Love you lots.’
It’s understood that Wayne, who co-owns popular Ibiza bar O Beach, and Gary were previously at the heart of a family rift following the pundit’s marriage to now ex-wife Danielle Bux in 2009.

‘It was like an itch I couldn’t scratch and I couldn’t understand why our contact had fizzled out.’
However the businessman’s post suggested they have since resolved their differences, with Wayne sharing a number of images from their school days alongside a more recent image of the pair on a night out.
Another snap captures the pair on matching scooters as they play in the back garden of their family home.

Gary’s oldest son George, 28, also shared a handful of images while congratulating his father on his special day.
The posts included a series of family shots of Gary and his four sons with first wife Michelle Cockayne, who divorced the former footballer in 2006 after 20-years of marriage.
Captioning the images, he wrote: ‘Happy 60th Birthday to the big guy – you are some man. Have a top day and thank you for everything.’
Elsewhere son Harry posted a shot of himself and his father on the pitch in the early 2000s, several years after Gary formally ended his playing career.

The 26-year old also shared a snap of a framed signed and framed Barcelona shirt, a gift from Argentine legend Lionel Messi.
Congratulating his father, he wrote: ‘Happy Birthday Padre @garylineker. The big 60, a decent innings so far.’
Meanwhile Harry Lineker, 24, shared a video of his father watching a compilation of his career highlights with the accompanying caption: Happy birthday to this hero @garylineker. Have a good one dad.’

The cake is further decorated with pictures of a football and a Leicester City and FC Barcelona shirts, two of the teams which the former England striker has previously played for.

Gary has been promoting the snack brand for more than 25 years – with the cake honouring his milestone birthday inspired by his long-term partnership with the company.
Captioning an image of the gift, he wrote: ‘Thanks for sending this brilliant cake @georgelineker @harry_lineker @tobiaslineker @anguslineker.’
