Doja Cat walks away with New Artist Of The Year gong at the 2020 American Music Awards

Doja Cat went braless under a daring see-through top when she walked away with New Artist Of The Year gong at the 2020 AMAs on Sunday night.

She also bagged Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist as she graced the ceremony’s annual red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.

After collecting her gongs, the singer-songwriter, 25, changed into a sultry purple and black mesh gown that left little to the imagination.

Doja Cat, born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, first slipped her famously curvaceous physique into a brown strapless gown that ruched at the hem and bust.

She then changed into a see-through version of her ensemble drawing gasps from the guests there.

The purple tone of Doja’s tall tie-wrap pumps coordinated with the minimalistic purple detailing on her dress.

As for her her hair, Doja rocked an auburn toned pixie cut that was formed into a slew of elegant finger waves.

The hitmaker drew attention to her cartoonish peepers by dousing her eyelids in brown and gold shimmer shadows.

Keeping her eyes the focus, Doja opted for a nude lipstick tone and a generous amount of facial contour.

Hanging from her neck was a stunning, oversized antique silver pendant that matched her wrist cuff.

Aside from her lengthy manicure, Doja decked out her fingers in a slew of different rings, including one that had a large purple gemstone set in it.

After bidding farewell to the shutterbugs, Doja headed inside the Microsoft Theater to cheer on her peers and learn the fate of her nominations.

During the lengthy ceremony, the Juicy singer was forced to take to the stage twice to accept her New Artist Of The Year and Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist.

She was competing against the likes of fellow Hip Hop hottie Megan Thee Stallion, rapper DaBaby, and songstress Summer Walker.

Her statement-making second ensemble of the night made its debut backstage as she posed proudly with her gongs in hand.

The top half of Doja’s barely-there dress displayed her entire natural chest, while a suede corset accentuated her trim waistline.

Adding a bit more drama to the look, Doja fastened an antique gold chainlink belt around her waist that coordinated with her strappy heels.

The lower half of Doja’s unusual garment featured purple polka dot mesh, as well as some ivory lace detailing that ruffled along the hem.

Aside from being one of the night’s big winners, Doja was one of many artists to take the stage on Sunday.

The stunner was joined by fellow pop diva Bebe Rexha as they performed their collaborative track Baby, I’m Jealous.

Doja threw on a tribal-inspired ensemble that included fur boots, gold skulls, a ribcage bra, and rawhide skirt.

Bebe, 32, looked ethereal in a monochromatic two piece that consisted of an agular, fur-trimmed top and a pair of high waisted bottoms.

Despite rising COVID-19 numbers rising across the country, organizers for the award show have taken several precautions to make it as safe an event as possible.

A Dick Clark Productions spokesperson told Rolling Stone on Saturday: ‘We have rigorous Covid-19 safety guidelines and protocols in place — approved by the unions and with guidance from L.A. County Department of Public Health — that are beyond what is required.’

Anyone who is entering the venue was tested in advanced and will continue to be tested throughout the production until wrap.

Facial coverings were also required for anyone not on stage inside of the venue with the one exception being background dancers who will also be required to wear masks.
