Coronation Street viewers spot MAJOR continuity error

Viewers of Coronation Street spotted a major continuity blunder during the latest episode, which saw the character of Nick Tilsley go from clean-shaven to bearded in a matter of moments.

Actor Ben Price, who plays the role, was seen in an early-morning scene, in a dressing gown, freshly-shaven.

But in his next appearance, which saw him dressed for the day, he sported a rough stubbly look.

Hair today… gone tomorrow: Viewers of Coronation Street spotted a major continuity blunder during the latest episode, which saw the character of Nick Tilsley go from clean-shaven to bearded in a matter of moments

Had this been the other way around, this error could have been explained by suggesting he had woken up with stubble and shaven before getting dressed.

But the unfortunate order of the scenes proved to be a tricky continuity problem to justify.

This is believed to have happened thanks to the COVID-19 lockdown break – which saw certain scenes filmed ahead of lockdown and others picked up when Corrie returned to work two weeks ago.

Fans weren’t impressed with this, arguing that all Ben had to do was shave to rectify the error.

‘My wife is watching Corrie, Nick Tilsley can grow a beard in 2 minutes, terrible continuity,’ one viewer raged on Twitter.

Another posted: ‘Watching #corrie & had to rewind to check I wasn’t seeing things. Nick starts day with new haircut & no beard & by mid-morning he’s got his usual stubble & longer hair.’

Others noticed that several of the characters were sporting different haircuts from one scene to the next.

‘Anyone else notice the different haircuts in Corrie tonight? Clearly different scenes filmed months apart lol nick has long hair then it’s short,’ one person remarked.

Another commented on the character of Sally Metcalfe – played by Sally Dynevor – tweeting: ‘Sally can barely see her fringe is that long then next minute it’s short again. Made me chuckle!!’

Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7:30PM on ITV.
