The hacker group that broke a famous law firm published a multitude of emails mentioning President Donald Trump and saying that they will publish much more harmful documents if they do not receive a ransom of 42 million dollars.
The famous hacker group “REvil”, believed to be from Eastern Europe, stole private email, contracts and personal information from New York-based law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks.
The hack was revealed earlier this week, when the law firm representing stars such as Lady Gaga, Lizzo and Madonna confirmed that he had suffered a massive violation.
Now, cybercriminals have released a slice of internal emails from the firm mentioning Trump, which have been obtained and reviewed by DailyMail.com.
Trump has never been a client of a law firm, and the material published focuses primarily on rights discussions and approval of videos featuring the president.
One of these message chains discusses the potential legal risk associated with using a false positive Trump review in a parody of a movie parody.

In another email, a reporter contacted the law firm to find out whether David Letterman had authorized the Hillary Clinton campaign to use a clip from his 2012 interview with Trump in an attack announcement.
The lawyers concluded that no such release had been granted, but that Letterman did not care about the campaign’s use of the clip.
The hackers also posted a 2.4-gigabyte file on their dark website, including legal work done by the law firm for Lady Gaga.
The files appear to be mostly standard music industry documents and tedious paperwork.
The documents include contracts sent to producers, collaborators and whole tour members, promotional agreements, expense reports, confidentiality agreement forms, interpreter agreements, reimbursement forms for the artist Jeff Koons and some promotional photos.
Despite the harmlessness of the stolen emails that were published, hackers claimed to have far more damaging material.
‘Never mind. The first part, with the most harmless information, we will post here, “said the hackers in a brief statement on their bleak website.
They also threatened to target Trump on Thursday, writing, “The next person we will publish is Donald Trump. There are elections and we found a ton of dirty laundry an hour. “
They added, “Mr. Trump, if you want to stay president, bite the guys sharply, otherwise you risk forgetting that ambition forever.
“And for your constituents, we can let you know that after such a publication, you certainly don’t want to see him as president … The deadline is a week. “

Cybersecurity experts have expressed doubts as to whether the group had more damaging information about the president, but cautioned that there is nothing to threaten.
“It is easy to assume that they are bluffing, but that would not help their cause. The company would know it is bluffing and would be more or less willing to pay, “a security source told DailyMail.com.
“Besides, it wouldn’t be good for their business model. To be able to extort money, your victims must believe what you say.
The group claims to have obtained 767 gigabytes of information from the company, including contracts, nondisclosure agreements, private contact information and private correspondence.
They say they have encrypted backups and will only provide a way to access them if the company pays.

According to the pirates, Mariah Carey (left) and Bette Midler (right) were also among those whose legal documents were stolen during the offense.
“Companies in this situation do not have a good option. Whether they pay the demand or not, the data can be misused, “Brett Callow, threat analyst for cybersecurity company Emsisoft, told DailyMail.com.

“REvil claims that the data will be destroyed during payment, but why would a criminal enterprise one day destroy data that it could monetize a second time and all the more so that this data could have significant value? “
Callow pointed out that the criminals could attempt to extort money directly from celebrities on List A mentioned in the stolen documents, as well as from the law firm itself, although so far no request for it. type has not been made public.
A source told Page Six that one of the founders of the law firm, lawyer Allen Grubman, would not “negotiate with terrorists”.
The group’s message said to Grubman “We will destroy your business to the ground” if the money is not paid.
According to a source, Grubman, has “sensitive details about everything – work contracts, confidential deals and rider deals for the biggest stars in New York and Hollywood.”
Grubman is the father of famous journalist Lizzie Grubman – whose clients include Britney Spears and Jay-Z.
She was imprisoned for 38 days in 2001 for driving her car into a crowd of people outside a nightclub in the Hamptons, and then embarked on a highly publicized crisis management job.
