Tamara Ecclestone has revealed her daughter predicted Bernie was to become a father again aged 89 and he sat the family down to tell them.
The Formula One heiress, 35, told MailOnline Sophia, six, had quizzed her grandfather and his wife Fabiana Flosi, 44, about the couple starting a family – just weeks before Bernie shared the news.
In an exclusive interview, Tamara, who’s so happy and excited her dad is to become a father for a fourth time, said: ‘It’s really funny looking back at it now. Fifi predicted it.’

She continued: ‘It might be a surprise to everyone else because they’ve just heard it now but we have known since the beginning and I am really happy for them both.
‘It feels like so long ago to be honest, they told us over dinner.
‘It was funny though because Fifi actually asked her if she was planning on having a baby just before they told us while she was actually pregnant and they were like ‘no, we don’t know’ but she was probably in her early stages.
‘When Fifi heard the news she was like ‘I told you she was having a baby.”
Speaking in isolation from her London home, Tamara added: ‘It’s such good news during a dark time.’

Tamara Ecclestone looked her usual polished self here as she posed for a photo with her adorable daughter, Sophia.
The heiress cut a fashion-forward figure in a pretty Preen By Thornton Bregazzi dress. We love the pastel mint shade, which is perfect for spring.
The midi also features Preen’s signature draped detail, creating a super flattering fit. This ruched seam is found on a lot of the label’s designs, making it instantly recognisable as a Preen piece.
Sadly this exact one has now sold out, but the good news is we’ve lined up plenty of options to help you recreate the look! There are two Preen styles (right and below), or Phase Eight and Topshop have got some blooming beautiful alternatives too.

Happy: It was revealed last week that former Formula One boss Bernie is expecting his first son with his third wife, 44-year-old Brazilian marketing director Fabiana (pictured in 2019)
It was revealed last week that former Formula One boss Bernie is expecting his first son with his third wife, 44-year-old Brazilian marketing director Fabiana.
Bernie already has three daughters, Deborah, 65, from his first marriage to Ivy Bamford and Tamara and Petra, 31, who he shares with his second wife, Slavica Radić.
Tamara says she’s ‘excited’ for a son to be born into the family, who will be separated by 35-years from her and 65-years from Bernie’s eldest daughter Deborah.
She said: ‘We’re so happy and excited for them.
‘We are predominantly girls and I know much more what to do with girls but my sister does have two boys so at least he’ll have some company.’
The mother-of-one is currently isolating with her husband Jay Rutland, 39, and daughter Sophia, nicknamed Fifi, at their London home.
‘I literally cannot wait to see her’: Tamara admitted not being able to meet sister Petra’s newborn due to coronavirus has been ‘really hard’ (Petra and Tamara pictured in 2017)
At the start of the month Tamara’s sister Petra confirmed she welcomed a daughter with fiancé Sam Palmer, 36, but due to coronavirus their newborn is ‘yet to see the world.’
Tamara admitted that not being able to meet her niece, who is her sister’s fourth child, as a result of the lockdown has taken its toll and she cannot wait for the moment they’re reunited.
She said: ‘It’s really hard. Obviously she doesn’t usually live in this country but now that she’s here ideally we would like to be spending time together.
‘Sophia is really missing her cousins and I miss her a lot, it is hard. But we have to follow the rules and do everything we can. As hard as it is, it will pass.
‘I literally cannot wait to see her. I am so happy they’re healthy and happy, and everyone’s doing well.’
‘She has been really grownup’: The mother-of-one said Sophia is missing her cousins but has also adapted well to being in isolation and homeschooled for the first time
For the first time Tamara is homeschooling Sophia, who told MailOnline that although she loves being at home with mum and dad, she’s also missing her friends and cousins.
Tamara says she’s enjoyed being able to see her daughter develop and is grateful for the quality time with her family as they quarantine together.
She said: ‘It’s actually been quite fun, it’s really cool to see her progressing.
‘She’s reading really well, I’ve actually quite enjoyed being able to see her progress. The pressure, lucky she’s only six-years-old.’
‘We are very grateful for our health and it would be strange for us to be complaining because we’re together the three of us.
‘We’re happy as we are right now’: Time away from their hectic schedules during lockdown hasn’t convinced Tamara to have another baby with husband Jay Rutland
‘Sophia is really happy. She’s coping really well. We are doing a bit of homeschooling and a lot of play, just seeing her doing well and coping with such a big adjustment, obviously not being able to see her friends or her cousins, she’s being really understanding about it.
‘I explained it to her that one day people will look back at her as a hero, so giving up her birthday party and not going out, she has been really grownup and good natured about it.
‘We’re doing well; obviously just the fact that we’re healthy is the most important thing. Staying at home is no big deal in the grand scheme of things.’
But time away from their hectic schedules of ‘flying around and rushing from appointment to appointment or being stuck in traffic,’ hasn’t convinced the family-of-three to have another baby.
Tamara said: ‘Fifi is very much keeping us on our toes. We’re not ruling it out – if it happens in the future, it happens. But we’re happy as we are right now.’
