Rake actor Richard Roxburgh, 57, admits he can’t spend more than seven weeks away from his wife of 16 years Silvia Colloca

He’s graced Australia’s big screens and television sets for more than 30 years.

Richard Roxburgh has admitted he cannot be apart from his wife of 16-years for more than seven weeks at a time.

Speaking to Adelaide Now, The 57-year-old revealed he and Italian TV cook Silvia Colloca, 42, made a rule to never be apart from each other for too long.

‘We have a rule my, wife and I, about not spending more than seven weeks apart for the family,’ Richard said.

The Rake star added: ‘I go insane and it becomes just unconscionable.’

He explained that he had been working in Russia and Lithuania for HBO’s Catherine the Great for three months, away from his wife and three children.

‘I find that really difficult,’ Richard divulged.

Richard recently stepped into the shoes of the late Bob Hawke for Netflix‘s historical drama series The Crown.

‘I was away in Spain and the UK for that but that was mercifully a six-week thing so that’s doable,’ he said.

Richard played the former prime minister in season four of the ratings hit, almost a decade after he first portrayed the ‘Silver Bodgie’ on local television.

He had also appeared as the Labor larrikin in the Network Ten telemovie Hawke, which was screened in 2010.

Richard and Silvia were married in 2004 and share three children: Raphael, 12, Miro, nine, and Luna, two.
