Carrie Symonds sparks festive frenzy among dog owners by posting picture online showing Dilyn

Carrie Symonds has wished her Twitter followers a merry Christmas by posting a photograph of her Jack Russell-cross Dilyn wearing tinsel around his neck.

Number 10’s ‘First Girlfriend’ tweeted the adorable photograph of Dilyn along with the caption: ‘Merry Christmas!’

The festive pooch was decked out with red and green tinsel and posed next to his very own stocking.

And Carrie’s canine tweet sparked an influx of responses from other dog owners showing off their furry friends in a variety of Christmas outfits and poses.

One was shown clutching his festive toy while staring protectively into the camera, while another was dressed in a full Father Christmas costume.

Others were photographed in a variety of festive adornments such as tartan bow ties, Santa hats and Christmas jumpers.

One was even shown sitting on a kitchen chair in front of his very own plate of roast dinner.
