Samantha Jade struggled with body confidence but learned to love herself

Samantha Jade has seemingly struggled with body confidence since her steady rise to fame from the X Factor in 2012.

But now in her early 30s, the pop singer revealed to The Daily Telegraph she has learned to love herself and no longer cares what other people think.

‘I think (confidence) is something that comes in waves,’ the 32-year-old X Factor winner told the publication.

‘That’s something you find and then it goes through stages but I definitely think age is something that has made a huge impact on me.

‘I would say in my 30s, weirdly I gained this new confidence and I was like this is it, I’m going to learn to love it,’ she added.

In September, she revealed on Ten’s The Project her latest single Bounce was inspired by her fiancé, Pat Handlin, son of Sony Sony Music boss Denis Handlin, and ‘finding and loving yourself.’

‘Oh yes, (I was) definitely (inspired by Pat),’ Samantha told the panel. ‘I think Bounce is a celebration of love and all of those different loves, you know, finding yourself.’

‘When you find the right person, you want to be a better person and love yourself harder and love life harder, so yeah,’ Samantha added.

She went on to admit she’s yet to start planning her wedding.

The bubbly blonde beauty told co-host Lisa Wilkinson: ‘I’m useless, I haven’t done one thing! It’s so bad.’

‘Most girls are like, they’ve got it all planned, the date is here… but yeah, I’m taking my time with it,’ Samantha added.

She announced her engagement to Instagram in January this year, sharing a sweet snap of herself embracing Pat and flashing her stunning diamond engagement ring.

‘Yes,’ Samantha captioned the image, adding a ring emoji.
