Helping hand: Friend flips skater’s board as he flies past so he can pull off mid-air trick

This skateboarder received a little help from his friend when executing a kick flip by getting him to flip his board mid-air.

Nebraskan skatepark worker Wolow Gatluak was attempting the trick with the assistance of his friend, Nick Godinez.

Wolow approaches the staircase he is planning to jump down but instead of using his feet to rotate the board, Nick slaps it mid-air, beginning the rotation.

The slow motion footage shows how the jump and the flipping of the board were perfectly timed.

He successfully lands the trick and skates off while his impressed friends start screaming and shouting in disbelief.

Wolow puts his hands over his face in shock and then goes over to his friends for a group hug.

Wolow said: ‘It took us about 20 to 30 tries to achieve.

‘We were all surprised and caught off guard when I landed it, it was crazy and unbelievable.

‘The difficulties in landing the trick were coordinating with where the board was going to go and flipping the board the right way so that I could land on it perfectly.’
