A German man who allegedly strangled his British millionaire heiress girlfriend to death during a ‘sex game gone wrong’ at a Swiss hotel has been formally charged with murder.
Anna Florence Reed, 22, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, was found dead at Hotel La Palma au Lac, a four-star lakeside hotel in Locarno, Switzerland, in April.
The public prosecutor in Tessin today confirmed her bouncer boyfriend will face murder charges in court as well as counts of manslaughter and embezzlement.
Under Swiss privacy laws the suspect was only identified as ‘Dirk W’, despite being known as as Marc Schatzle and calling himself ‘Marc Dirtywhite’.

The court also ordered the 29-year-old German, who has the word ‘warrior’ tattooed over his left eye, be further remanded in custody.
Ms Reed’s body was discovered when other guests complained at 3am after hearing arguing coming from the couple’s room.
A porter was then sent to calm the situation down. Less than four hours later, Schatzle took the lift down to the lobby, appearing ‘agitated’ as he told staff his girlfriend was unwell.
An ambulance was called but medics were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead.
After the incident, Schatzle reportedly told the hotel reception his girlfriend was not feeling well. Police later found her lifeless body in the bathroom.
The post mortem showed the young woman was strangled to death.

Schatzle was arrested, but reportedly told police that it was a tragic sex accident, saying he had accidentally strangled the victim with a towel.

Prosecutors are investigating whether the suspect, who is a father-of-two, intended to steal money from the millionaire.
Schatzle claims he took the credit card for a ‘bit of fun’ as she always complained about paying all the bills.
Ms Reed come from one of Britain’s top racehorse breeding families and was enjoying a round the world trip as a present from her multi-millionaire father, Clive Reed, when she died.

She was a former pupil at the £14,000-a-year Ashville College in Harrogate.
Mr Reed, was said to be ‘utterly devastated’ whe he heard the news of his daughter’s death, which came five years after his wife passed away in a tragic accident.
On April 12 a spokesman for the cantonal police in Switzerland said: ‘A 29-year-old German citizen was arrested on 9th April.
‘Today he has been formally accused of intentional murder with the possibility of the lesser charge of involuntary homicide after the investigation, which is ongoing.
‘The autopsy has been carried out but the conclusion has not yet reached the Public Ministry.’
