Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton rubs shoulders with singer Patti Smith at The King New York Premiere

He’s the breakout Australian actor making his mark overseas.

And on Tuesday, Sullivan Stapleton looked every inch the Hollywood star as he stepped out for the New York premiere of his new film, The King.

The 42-year-old was in good spirits as he posed with legendary singer, Patti Smith, and his blonde beauty date on the black carpet of his latest Hollywood blockbuster.

Sullivan and his female companion looked cosy as he put his arm around her waist while posing together for photographers.

The pair even shared a giggle as they cuddled up for a group shot with Patti.

The Blindside star looked suave in a navy blue button-up t-shirt and black trousers.

He completed his look in black leather boots.

Sullivan sparked the attention of Hollywood after his breakout role in award winning Australian film, Animal Kingdom, back in 2010.

Sullivan, who grew up in Adelaide, got his major break playing Damian Scott in the British-American series Strike Back.

The Melbourne-born thespian appeared on the show until 2015, before moving over to the NBC drama Blindspot.

In Australia, he had major roles in Underbelly Files: Infiltration and 2010’s Animal Kingdom, which earned him an AACTA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
