No Instagram influencer here! Married At First Sight’s Mark Scrivens serves coffee at trendy Melbourne cafe after career change

Married At First Sight’s Mark Scrivens has shunned a career as an Instagram influencer promoting products online to open a trendy cafe in Melbourne.

The 41-year-old recently took over Freelancer Cafe on Wellington Street in St Kilda, which has been a dream of his for a long time.

‘For me, it’s been a few years in the making,’ Mark told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday morning, after being photographed serving customers at the trendy hotspot.

Mark continued: ‘I’ve always liked the cafe environment. It’s relaxed, everyone likes going and I guess coffee is an addiction for some people.

‘I’ve just come from personal training, where you are up early and home late at night. It’s like I’ve bought a new lifestyle as well as the enjoyment of the new job.’

When asked if he’d contemplated using his 100,000 Instagram followers to cash in as an influencer like many of his co-stars instead, Mark laughed loudly.

‘Look, they can do whatever they want! I went on the show for the right reasons and genuinely to meet somebody,’ he responded.
