Loose Woman’s Andrea McLean accidentally makes awkward sex remark about Janet Street-Porter

Andrea McLean had the Loose Women panelists in hysterics after accidentally making an awkward sex blunder about Janet Street-Porter during Thursday’s show.

The presenter, 49, and the rest of the ladies were discussing finding fame at a young age vs an older age and whether success is measured by fame, when her attention soon turned to Janet, 72.

However, Andrea was left red-faced when she accidentally implied her co-star had lots of sex, saying ‘sex’ instead of ‘success’ following a slip of the tongue.

Looking at Janet, she said: ‘Now Janet, you’ve had sex…’

As she uttered the mistaken words, she, Janet and the rest of the panel – Saira Khan and Jane McDonald – burst into giggles.

Following the blunder, Andrea quickly composed herself, explaining to Janet: ‘I meant to say, you’ve had success throughout your career.’

To which Janet cheekily replied: ‘Well, I’ve had both…’

After the ladies moved on from Andrea’s naughty blunder, the conversation soon turned back to the topic at hand – fame and success.

‘I look at young people and so many see the huge number of followers that influencers have on social media,’ said Janet.

‘They lump together fame and success and they think if you have fame then you’re successful.’

To which Andrea agreed: ‘Now fame is a job.’

Polka dots are a timeless and classic style that you can wear all year round. So it’s no wonder we’ve recently spotted Zendaya, Lorraine Kelly and even Queen Letizia rocking the spotty pattern recently.

Taking on the trend for another episode of Loose Women was Andrea McLean, who was dressed by stylists Gemma Shanley and Bertie Bowen in this summery Wallis dress.

We love the blush shade as it makes the black dots pop and therefore catches your attention. What’s more, the dress is a perfect piece to take you from desk-to-diner thanks to the halterneck, midi length and flattering tie waist.

Andrea’s dress is selling out fast so if you want to snap up your size, then click right. Alternatively, work a blush shade this season by channelling the presenter in one of our look-alikes from the carousel.

The hilarious installment comes after Loose Women celebrated 20 years on air as panelists old and new reunited for a special episode.

The hour-long show had plenty of surprises including unexpected guests, a sweet message from Ed Sheeran and even a debut from Stacey Solomon’s baby Rex, who was born in May.

Making up the star-studded line-up of panellists were Stacey, 29, Nadia Sawalha, 54, Brenda Edwards, 45, Penny Lancaster, 48, Jane Moore, 57 and Carol McGiffin, 59.

Saira Khan, 30, Denise Welch, 61, Kelle Bryan, 44, Christine Lampard, 40, Andrea McLean, 49, Kaye Adams, 56, and Ruth Langsford, 59, also joined the list.

In a fun twist, for each segment of the ITV chat show, four different panellists sat at the desk with the remaining presenters sitting in the audience as the ‘fifth Loose Women’.

The episode also had some special moments as anchors Andrea, Christine, Ruth and Kaye sat together at the desk for the first time ever in show history.

During the programme, Ed Sheeran, who is pals with panellist Brenda’s son Jamal, recorded a special video message.

He said: ‘Happy 20th birthday to Loose Women, congratulations on everything you guys are achieving. Lots of love to all of you, you’re all fantastic and have a great day – lots of love!’

To round off the 20-year special episode, Brenda, Denise, Stacey and Kelle performed their own version of Andrew Gold’s Thank You For Being A Friend.

Loose Women first aired on the 6 September in 1999, with Kaye, Nadia, Jane and Karren Brady as the original panellists, with Ruth joining for the second show.
