James Haskell EXCLUSIVE: Sports star reveals second wedding plans with wife Chloe Madeley

They tied the knot in an intimate Berkshire ceremony in December 2018.

And James Haskell has revealed that he wants a bigger second wedding celebration with wife Chloe Madeley in 2021.

The retired rugby player, 34, exclusively spoke to MailOnline after listing their home on Airbnb during the Rugby World Cup to raise money for Sebastian’s Action Trust – a charity that supports seriously-ill children.

During the chat, James also spoke about having children with Chloe and admitted that it’s not a ‘priority’ for them at the moment.

Talking about their second wedding plans, the sports star told MailOnline: ‘Yeah, unfortunately because of the World Cup, everyone has taken up 2020 with all their wedding stuff.

‘We are looking at 2021 to do this bigger party. We’ve been to some amazing weddings this summer and I think we are really keen on having that party to celebrate all our friends and bring them all together. More so than anything else.

‘We are really enjoying being married but I think it is important to… we want to celebrate that, we did it in such a small intimate way, it will be great to celebrate it.’

He added: ‘No doubt when we have a wedding, we go away, I will put the house on Airbnb again.’

Talking about having children, James admitted: ‘To be completely honest with you, I know the PC answer is to say yes, but actually Chloe and I, I think we do want to have kids at some point but it’s really not a priority.

‘I think as soon as you get married people in the public or media, they get stressed with kids, I’m very career minded, I’ve just retired, I’ve got to find a steady income. I’ve got to find money.

‘Chloe is very independent, she wants her own income and source of money. Having kids looks amazing, it also looks a load of hard work, a load of stress that I’m not at the moment ready to jump into.’

Although James sweetly added: ‘I’m sure as we progress and get more settled, we will sort it out.’

The couple will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary in December and the former rugby player revealed that they are planning something special.

He said: ‘We always take it in turns actually [to celebrate their anniversary] I’ve got to work out who is in charge of it this time.

‘But we will plan something special to do, so that’ll be good. We want to plan something and not have an overlap and we want to do stuff together.’

Since James retired earlier this year, the sports star and Chloe have been travelling the world as well as getting the opportunity to do some exciting projects.

Yet the rugby legend joked that he’s been ‘driving Chloe mad’, he said on whether she’s been enjoying having him around more: ‘You’ll probably have to ask her, I probably doubt it… as she regularly voices that I drive her mad!

‘We are both kind of workaholics, Chloe has finished her third book, which is going to come out in a period of time. Building a new website, subscription rates taking on more online clients.

‘I am everywhere, I have been to Fiji, France, Geneva, Belgium, Italy, Ibiza twice, I’m going to turkey, Maldives, with work bits, DJ-ing, speaking… I am so busy at the moment, I don’t have time to think.

‘Unfortunately, retirement has not meant that I spend much time at home or doing nothing, but I wouldn’t have it any other way really.’

James also shared his plans to do more couple projects and workout videos with Chloe, he said: ‘We have looked at doing stuff together before, it is something that we do spend a lot of time together and we do really enjoy things in terms of training.

‘We haven’t really trained a lot together, we do when we go on holiday and we get the chance. I think we like to do a couples’ workout, but we want to do some more filming, we have done some things together.

‘Chloe is so good at what she does and lightyears ahead of me in terms of her nutritional knowledge. A lot of it will be interesting to get the balance right and see how we go about doing it. We are always keen to work together and do things.

‘We get on very well, that’s why we got married. Since I finished playing, we’re going in slightly different directions in certain things just because we’ve got different interests.
