Love Island fans are demanding that Greg O’Shea return his £25,000 cash prize after he is said to have dumped girlfriend Amber Gill by text just 39 days after they won the show.
Viewers were shocked to learn that the couple have reportedly gone their separate ways just five weeks after they won the ITV2 reality series.
The winners receive a £50,000 cash prize with Amber and Greg deciding to split the money between them so they both received £25,000.
Prize: The beauty therapist, 22, and the Irish hunk, 24, dated for a mere 12 days before they were crowned winners of the show in July, with Amber choosing to split the prize pot
Some fans of the show have now hit out at Greg, who was in the Love Island villa for 12 days, for calling quits on their relationship so soon after the series.
One fan wrote on Twitter: So Greg has dumped @AmberRoseGill over the phone. Well do the right thing Greg and hand her back the 25k which let’s be honest is rightfully hers. #sneaky’.
Another said: ‘Greg give Amber her 25k back we voted for her not you’ while another wrote: ‘Greg should give Amber her 25k back cos what nonsense.’
Another viewer said of the Irish rugby player: ‘Is it too soon to say that Greg didn’t deserve that 25k and only won off Amber’s back. He should give it back.’
Heartbreak: Love Island’s Amber Gill is reportedly convinced Greg O’Shea used her to win the £50,000 prize money, following their shock split 39 days after winning the show
It comes after Amber is said to be convinced Greg used her to win the £50,000 prize money, following their split.
A source said: ‘Amber feels used by Greg. He was always aware of the distance and his career in their relationship, and yet he chose to seek out Amber in the villa knowing there would always be the distance.
‘He hasn’t made any effort to come to London to see Amber, despite it being over five weeks, it’s always Amber who had to make the effort.’
The claims come as Amber and Greg shocked the nation with their split, becoming the fastest ever winning couple from the show to part ways.
Amber is said to be ‘devastated’ as Greg reportedly dumped her by text and she had no idea it was coming.

Not meant to be: And according to The Sun , Amber now feels betrayed and ‘used’ by Greg, amid claims he dumped her by text due to the long-distance nature of their romance
‘Amber is devastated, she thought he was a lovely guy, but he’s made his feelings clear over text, which isn’t very sensitive.
‘She had a feeling he was going to make decision to end things but only because she’d been hearing things – he hadn’t the decency to tell her himself.’
Amber and Greg beat Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, who had been seeing one another for 54 days.
They have now broken the record for the shortest ever relationship had from winning the show, as they have split after just 39 days.

Blindsided: Greg had used their busy careers as the reason behind ending things, with Amber blindsided as she was due to fly from Newcastle to Ireland to stay with him this weekend
Last month, Amber spoke about the struggles she and Greg faced making their long-distance relationship work.
Speaking on This Morning shortly after their win she admitted she was under no illusion that it’ll be easy to maintain her relationship with Greg once she returned home to Newcastle and he resides in Ireland.
Amber insisted: ‘I don’t think it’s going to be easy but if you want to make it work… I’m not stuck in one place.’
As hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes asked whether she was in love, Amber reasoned: ‘I couldn’t possibly say that… It’s going really well.
‘In the villa we kept things moving slowly and we want to continue doing that.’
The unlucky-in-love star flew to Ireland last month to visit her beau, but it’s not believed that Greg came to Newcastle after filming for Aftersun was complete.

Amber had a tumultuous time in the Love Island villa, she was initially paired with Callum McLeod – who was the first boy to be dumped from the series just five days in. This led to a platonic coupling with Anton Danyluk.
Michael Griffiths – a fellow original – then told Amber he had feelings for her and they coupled up. But when Amber was whisked away to Casa Amor, Michael’s head was turned by Joanna Chimonides.
When Amber returned to the main villa, Michael had re-coupled. Amber was left single once again. She told Michael she still liked him, but he rejected her advances.

’10/10′: Amber described herself, before heading into Love Island, as a ‘diva’

Amber described herself, before heading into Love Island, as a ‘diva’, a ‘big personality’, and a 10/10 in terms of looks because ‘you’ve got to back yourself’.
She said, ahead of entering the show, that her ‘type’ was actor Tom Hardy.
Her father is from Trinidad and Tobago. She has a sister called Lauren.
Her Instagram account, back in May, boasted just 6k followers, but it has now rocketed up to 1.7m.
Amber is rumoured to have undergone a £400 bum lift before heading into the villa.
When she first appeared on the show, a social media post resurfaced in which she claimed she ‘doesn’t like black guys’. She was accused of being racist, but the matter was cleared up by her rep, who explained she had simply been attempting to get a pestering man to leave her alone that evening.
She was already pals with Love Island alumni Adam Collard and Ellie Brown.
She said, ahead of the show: ‘I’ve never cheated. I am not planning on having a wandering eye. I’ve been cheated on several times. I’m not as naive as I was then, I’ve just learnt to be careful from it. Not everyone has your best interests at heart.’

Sport runs in Greg’s family. His father Niall and mother Carol were both sprinters for Ireland. He has roots in Hong Kong on his maternal grandfather’s side. He has a sister named Laura.
At the age of seven, Greg started playing rugby with local club Shannon. He went to Crescent College and won Junior Cups in 2010 and 2011. He then won the Munster Schools Rugby Senior Cup in 2013.
Following in his parents’ footsteps, Greg was also a sprinter; when he was 16 he competed for Ireland at the 2011 European Youth Olympics 100m, quitting shortly after.
In 2015, Greg lacerated his Achilles tendon when he fell off a bike and took a year to recover. After getting better, he joined the Ireland national sevens team. He then went on to play for Ireland at the 2017 Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series, where Ireland finished second behind Russia. He then made the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens squad and the Ireland squad for the 2019 Hong Kong Sevens qualifier, helping the team win the tournament and qualify for the World Rugby Sevens Series.

In it to win it: He admitted before entering the villa that ‘nothing gets in my way’ when he sets his sights on something
Later, in a shock dumping, Joanna was sent home alone, leaving Michael single again – and conveniently interested in Amber once more. It was at this point Greg was sent in.
Amber enjoyed a date with the rugby pro and was tasked with choosing between him and Michael, ultimately choosing Greg. Michael ended up being voted out.
They survived the final dumping and odds then plummeted on them scooping the prize.
Called it quits: Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan also split this week. It came as the beautician reportedly thought her Scottish beau was ‘disrespecting’ their relationship
Their split makes them the third couple from this series to call things quits, following on from Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan – who split this week – and Chris Taylor and Harley Brash, who ended things last month.
Belle and Anton’s split came as the beautician reportedly thought her Scottish beau was ‘disrespecting’ their relationship by partying with a bevvy of beauties in Ibiza.
She is also said to have been wary of his Craig David obsession.
Anton and Belle parting ways has followed on from Chris and Harley, whose ill-fated romance ended in August after a very rocky start.
Despite announcing they were exclusive and going on a string of high profile dates, they ended up splitting just 17 days after the show ended.
On her split from the business development manager, Harley told Fubar radio: ‘We were just better off as friends… we had such busy schedules and we both realised that it was better to break it off now and we could still be friends.’
