The comments on her Instagram page were briefly disabled earlier this week, allegedly in response to mommy shaming.
On Thursday, Jessica Simpson looked totally unaffected by the controversy in a black and white shared to her Instagram
The 39-year-old singer gave her fans a close-up of her ear-to-ear grin.
‘Smile’: Jessica Simpson, 39, shared a lovely black and white photo on Thursday of herself beaming while lying on the bed
Jessica appeared to be lying prone on her bed with her arms outstretched.
She was dressed in a long-sleeve graphic shirt with writing running down the sleeves.
The Dukes Of Hazzard star let her long blonde locks frame her face in soft waves.
She appeared to keep her makeup to a minimum, instead highlighting her clear skin.
The beaming mother of three captioned the photo: ‘Smile.’
Still has it: The Dukes Of Hazzard star appeared fresh-faced, but her wavy blonde locks were as lustrous as ever
Clap back: The photo may have been a response to mommy shamers who criticized her after she let her seven-year-old daughter Maxwell dye the tips of her hair purple
It’s not clear if her optimistic picture was a response to anything, though it came shortly after the comments were turned off on her Instagram.
The move was initially believed to be in response to a number of critical comments the I Wanna Love You Forever singer received earlier this month after sharing photos of her daughter Maxwell during a salon session.
It has since been reported that Jessica was hacked and the hacker switched off the ability on her social media.
A source told
The seven-year-old dyed the bottom half of her long blonde tresses a shade of purple inspired by Descendants, a Disney channel film about the children of infamous Disney villains.
‘Why start ruining her hair so young,’ one Instagram user commented, while another wrote ‘Don’t like it at all !!! Much better before the color. The new color makes her look older than her age.’
Another said, ‘so young it’s a shame.’
In response to the kerfuffle, fellow singer Pink showed her support for Jessica by posting photos of her own daughter dying her hair blue.
Whoops: The singer was also lambasted by users who criticized her for failing to properly buckle her four-month-old daughter Birdie Mae’s car seat — except the baby was actually in a stroller
Jessica just couldn’t catch a break after she shared an adorable snap on Saturday of her youngest daughter, four-month-old Birdie Mae.
‘This bird couldn’t be more adorable #BlueEyedBeauty #BIRDIEMAE.’
The cute tot gazed intently into the camera while strapped into her stroller, and the photo was captioned: ‘This bird couldn’t be more adorable #BlueEyedBeauty #BIRDIEMAE.’
But multiple users seem to have mistaken the stroller for a car seat and criticized her mother for failing to properly secure her.
‘Straps on this car seat do not provide correct support,’ announced one scold.
A different account added: ‘That hard buckle should be on her sternum instead of her belly to be optimally effective and not cause more harm if a car accident would happen (God forbid!).’
Fitness goals: Jessica has been working to shed her baby weight since Birdie Mae was born in March; pictured getting ‘Post-workout snuggles’ with her husband Eric Johnson, 39
The former wife of Nick Lachey was also the brunt of criticism after posting a photo of Birdie in which the little girl appeared to be sleeping on her stomach, a risk factor for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Jessica later clarified that her daughter was just posing for the picture and wasn’t actually sleep on her stomach.
Following the March 19 C-section birth of her youngest child, Jessica has been going all out to shed the weight she put on during the difficult pregnancy.
She shared a sweet photo with Birdie and her husband Eric Johnson, 39, on August 1, which she captioned, ‘Post-workout snuggles.’
She and the former NFL player also share a six-year-old son Ace.
The whole gang: In addition to Maxwell, seven, and Birdie Mae, four months, Jessica and Eric share their six-year-old son Ace
