Tucker Carlson has escalated his feud with Ilhan Omar, a day after he accused the Somali-born congresswoman of having ‘undisguised contempt for the United States’.
Carlson’s comments on Tuesday prompted Omar to describe him as ‘racist fool’, but the Fox News host doubled down on his criticism of the politician during Wednesday night’s opening of his Tucker Carlson Tonight program.
In a fiery piece-to-camera, the 50-year-old star claimed the US had ‘rescued’ Omar from ‘the single worst place on earth’, only for her to act ungratefully.
‘How did Omar respond to the remarkable gift we gave her? She scolded us and called us names. She showered us with contempt. It’s infuriating,’ Carlson charged on the program.

Following Carlson’s initial criticism of her on Tuesday night, Omar hit back on Twitter by describing the talk show host as a ‘racist fool’
Omar was born in Somalia and came to the U.S. as a refugee with her father when she was 10 years old, after spending time in a refugee camp in Kenya.
In his opening on Wednesday night, Carlson went on address Omar’s claim that he was ‘racist’ – something she wrote on Twitter following his initial criticism of her on Tuesday night.
‘lhan Omar and her allies in congress immediately demanded that this show be pulled off the air. They didn’t rebut our points, or even acknowledge them. They just tried to silence us. That’s how they operate. And of course they called us racist,’ Carlson charged.
He disputed Omar’s claim, saying that his program consistently promotes ‘colorblind equality’.

It’s the second night in a row that Rep. Ilhan Omar has been targeted by the Fox News star
‘Omar and her friends already know that,’ the Fox pundit blasted, before adding: ‘Nothing they say on the subject is sincere. It’s all a hustle, designed to get them what they want.
‘Omar has made a career of denouncing anyone and anything in her way as racist. That would include virtually all of her political and personal opponents, and even inanimate objects, like the proposed border wall, the United States congress and the entire state of North Dakota.’
Carlson then stated that Omar learned to be a ‘professional victim’ from ‘cultural gatekeepers’ on the left.
He further alleged Omar had been taught it acceptable to be critical of the United States by members of the Democratic Party.
On Tuesday, Carlson called Rep. Omar a ‘living fire alarm’ that immigration laws need to be changed
‘The leaders of the Democratic Party, day after day, attack the country they say they want to govern. It’s remarkable, and a very new development. Just a few years ago, even the most liberal Democrats in Congress felt obligated to say patriotic things about America.
‘Now it’s routine to hear Democratic presidential candidates question the basic legitimacy of the United States. Even supposed moderates, like Joe Biden, join in. That should worry you. No country can survive being ruled by people who hate it. We deserve better,’ he claimed.
Carlson’s fiery follow-up came after his initial criticism of Minnesota congresswoman Omar.
‘Ilhan Omar is living proof that the way we practice immigration has become dangerous to this country. She has undisguised contempt for the United States and for its people,’ Carlson charged on his Fox News program Tuesday night.
‘She’s a living fire alarm, a warning to the rest of us that we better change our immigration system immediately, or else,’ he warned.
Carlson has been hosting his top-rated cable program since late 2016. He frequently takes aim at far-left Democrats, including Omar and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
President Trump demonstrated his support via Twitter, retweeting conservative radio host Mark Levin, who himself tweeted criticism at CNN for attacking Carlson in the wake of Carlson’s tirade.

She was born in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, the youngest of seven children, and lost her mother when she was two. Her father’s family included civil servants and government officials, and when she was six they fled the war-torn country, spending four years in a refugee camp on in Kenya.
In 1992 her father brought her and her siblings to the U.S. where they claimed asylum, living first in Virginia – where she said she experienced racism – then moving to Minneapolis, which has the country’s largest Somali community.
The family were granted refugee status in 1995 and she became a citizen in 2000, when she was 17.
Omar went to North Dakota State University and worked in Minneapolis for community initiatives and Democratic politicians before becoming member of the state House and running for Congress in 2016.

WHAT TUCKER CARLSON SAID ABOUT ILHAN OMAR THAT GOT TRUMP’S SUPPORT AND THE CONGRESSWOMAN’S CONTEMPT
Here is what Tucker Carlson said about Ilhan Omar on his
The Democratic candidates for president are on the road this week telling voters that the United States is an awful country.
America’s institutions are built on white supremacy, squeaked Beto O’Rourke at an event yesterday.
Of all the lies these people to tell, and there are many, this is the most absurd.
In fact the United States is the kindest, most open-minded place on the planet.
The U.S. Has done more for other people and received less in return than any nation in history by far.
Americans like to help. It makes us feel good.
Some of our deepest satisfaction as a country comes from watching penniless immigrants arriving on our shores, buy into our values, and thrive.
We call it the American dream, and nothing makes us prouder.
It was in that spirit that in 1992, the United States welcomed 10-year-old Ilhan Omar and her family.
Omar was born in Somalia, one of the world’s poorest countries, who was then ruled by a Marxist military dictatorship.
When she was six, she and her parents and siblings fled a worsening civil war and wound up at a refugee camp in Kenya.
They spent four years until America offered the family asylum here and let them settle in Minneapolis.
Omar’s father drove a taxi, then got a job at the Post Office working for the government.
Omar, meanwhile, grew up free in the world’s richest country with all the bounty that that implies.
She became a citizen, and went to work for state university.
A few years later she became a member of Congress, elected by voters who were proud to see an immigrant to succeed.
Omar is now, at the age of only 36, one of the most powerful women in America.
It’s an amazing story, really. Only in this country could it have happened.
Ilhan Omar has an awful lot to be grateful for. But she isn’t grateful, not at all.
After everything America has done for Omar and for her family, she hates this country more than ever.
In a recent piece in The Washington Post, the reporter put it this way: ‘In Omar’s version, America isn’t the big-hearted country that saved her from a brutal war and a bleak refugee camp. It wasn’t a meritocracy that helped her attend college and vaulted her into Congress.
‘Instead, it was the country that had failed to live up to its founding ideals, a place that has disappointed her, and so many immigrants, refugees and minorities like her.’
If anything, that is an understatement. Omar isn’t disappointed in America. She’s enraged by it.
Virtually every public statement she makes accuses Americans of bigotry and racism. This is an immoral country, she says.
She has undisguised contempt for the United States and for its people.
That should worry you and not just because Omar is a sitting member of Congress.
Ilhan Omar is living proof that the way we practice immigration has become dangerous to this country.
A system designed to strengthen America is, instead, undermining it.
Some of the very people we try hardest to help have come to hate us passionately.
Maybe that is our fault for asking too little of our immigrants. We aren’t self-confident enough to make them assimilate so they never feel fully American.
Or maybe the problem is deeper than that. Maybe we are importing people from places whose values are simply antithetical to ours.
Who knows what the problem is.
But there is a problem and whatever the cause, this cannot continue. It’s not sustainable.
No country can import large numbers of people who hate it and expect to survive. The Romans were the last to try that with predictable results.
So be grateful for Ilhan Omar, annoying as she is. She’s a living fire alarm, a warning to the rest of us: we better change our immigration system immediately – or else.
