Wimbledon 2019: Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge leads stars on day five

It is the highlight of the professional tennis circuit, which attracts an array of celebrity sports fans through the doors of the All England Club.

And Phoebe Waller-Bridge put on an extremely animated display on Centre Court as she led the star-studded arrivals on the fifth day of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on Friday.

Clad in a chic floral dress, the Fleabag creator, 33, couldn’t contain her emotions as she watched an intense match.

From Joely Richardson and Tess Daly to the Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex, Wimbledon has been a hotspot for style inspiration so far.

But we think that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s outfit might just be our new favourite!

The Fleabag star arrived looked effortlessly elegant in a floral print dress by Reformation. We love the flattering little cap sleeves and red ditsy rose print against the white background, plus the thigh high split is perfect for posing. Add in a pair of Jimmy Choo slingbacks and gold jewellery by Missoma (find all the deets and links in our carousel below) and her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman has got it spot on yet again.

Unfortunately this exact floral print has now sold out, but the ‘Gavin’ dress is still available in other colours and designs (click right).

Phoebe gasped with delight as she opened a box to find a branded hand-held fan, taking it out to show her friends.

The talented actress pulled a range of faces, from crying dramatically to grimacing and scrunching up her face whilst holding her hands up in the air.

Her high-necked dress was adorned with vibrant scarlet rose print and cinched in at her slender waist before flowing into a chic mid-length skirt.

Teasing a glimpse of her lean legs, the dress featured a soaring split, with the look completed with white slingbacks.

Huge crowds were waved into the All England Club in sun-soaked south-west London with almost 500,000 people expected over the coming fortnight with armed police brought in to keep them safe.

Security guards walked the spectators past the famous ivy-covered Centre Court with Djokovic beginning the defence of his men’s singles title there from 1pm.

Thousands slept outside The All England Tennis Club overnight having pitched up over the past two days hoping to get tickets for Wimbledon, which began in 1877 and is considered the most important sporting event of the British summer along with the first Test Match at Lord’s each year.

And many claim that queuing for tickets is ‘as much a part of the Wimbledon experience as the tennis itself’.
