And Jack Vidgen has revealed he drowned his sorrows with ‘quite a few champagnes’ following the shock elimination.
Taking to Instagram in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the 22-year-old singer thanked fans for their support and admitted their kind words had ‘made him bawl’.

‘Seeing all your messages makes me bawl,’ Jack wrote.
‘Surrounded by so much love and I’m just so stoked to have come this far. I’ve had quite the few champagnes and I’m absolutely ready for sleep.’
He also shared a photo of himself looking disappointed on stage after his elimination and explained that the competition had ‘changed his life’.
‘Grateful. That’s all I have to say. So grateful. My heart is full,’ he wrote.

Jack, who took a five-year break from the spotlight before auditioning for The Voice, fell at the last hurdle on Tuesday and won’t be progressing to next week’s live finals.
After the devastating news, he told the coaches: ‘This is has just honestly been the most incredible experience of my life.’

He added: ‘It’s just been so healing and it’s just… there is no words to describe it. I just want to thank everyone, the whole team, Guy, all of you, just everyone.
‘It’s honestly changed my life and I’m never going to stop singing ever again.’
Jack’s moving performance of You Are The Reason by Calum Scott was not enough to convince viewers at home to vote him through to the finals.

Jack revealed on the show that the song was very important to him because it reminded him of an ex-boyfriend.
‘I’ll just be singing this to my future partner. My last relationship, it just didn’t work out. We’ve both moved on and, like, we’re friendly,’ he said.
‘So I look back at that and it’s, like, it was really beautiful experience for me.
‘The most important thing is to make people feel something and I definitely want to try and melt people’s hearts with this performance.’

Tuesday night marked the end of Jack’s second reality TV journey, after he won Australia’s Got Talent in 2011 when he was just 14.
The other eliminated contestants included: Team Guy’s Mitch Paulsen and Chynna Taylor, Team Delta’s Sheldon Riley, and Team George’s Lee Harding.
The Voice continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine
