Shanina Shaik reveals the simple makeup trick to hide ‘dark circles and blemishes’

She’s hailed for her glamorous appearance and exotic features.

And Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik, 28, has revealed her very simple skincare and makeup secrets.

In a video posted by Vogue this week, the Australian star, who is of Lithuanian, Pakistani and Saudi ancestry, shared how she hides her ‘blemishes’ and ‘dark circles’ with cosmetics – specifically by using Charlotte Tilbury’s concealer.

‘I travel with a lot of concealers and foundations because my skin colour changes all the time so I’m going to just go over some breakouts. I like to get rid of these blemishes first,’ she said.

‘I have natural dark eyes from genetics, so if I haven’t slept you’ll know about it – so I love concealer.’

Shanina begins each morning by washing her face with Mario Badescu’s Seaweed Cleansing Soap, before applying FRESH Rose Floral Toner.

The stunning supermodel uses a variety of serums on her skin, including Dr Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum, Dr Barbara Sturm Anti-Pollution Drops and Dr Barbara Sturm Super Anti-Aging Serum.

She then follows up with a light moisturiser containing SPF, eye cream and uses Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender to refresh her complexion. 

Shanina then applies Clarins Instant Light Comfort Lip Oil, followed by an eye mask to finish off her skin.

She then begins her makeup, starting with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer, before moving onto a liquid foundation, which she applies with a bamboo makeup brush by makeup artist Rae Morris. 

Shanina then applies Rae Morris’ Invisible Mattifier, which she described as ‘the best’, before adding a glow to her complexion with Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter.

Next, she uses Marc Jacobs Beauty O!mega Bronze Coconut Perfect Tan bronzer in Tan-tastic, before using a blush by Make Up For Ever.

She then uses Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette, using two different brushes to blend the colour, before applying a Marc Jacobs mascara.

Shanina then applied BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector around her eyes, before finishing off with a Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Light Luminous Hydrating Lipstick.

‘It was really bad and I was modelling and it didn’t help my self-esteem with bad skin. So I think that’s why I love learning about the skin and skincare regimes.

‘I’m breaking out here [cheeks], that means it’s hormonal breakouts so you know what time of the month it is for me. And then here [forehead] is where you’ve been eating a lot or maybe alcohol and diet.’

Shanina began modelling 20 years ago, when she was just eight years old and was scouted by a talent agent at 15.   

She rose to stardom after finishing as runner-up on 2008 reality TV show Make Me a Supermodel. 

She booked her first Victoria’s Secret show three years later in 2011, when she was 20 and has also modelled for the likes of Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford.

Last week, Shanina confirmed her split from husband of one year, Greg ‘DJ Ruckus’ Andrews.

‘After careful thought and consideration, Shanina Shaik and Greg ‘DJ Ruckus’ Andrews have decided to separate,’ a rep for the pair told E!.

‘They move forward with much mutual respect and love for each other and ask to please respect their privacy during this time.’
