McDonald’s opens giant three-story flagship restaurant in Times Sq which even offers TABLE SERVICE

McDonald’s has opened a new three-story flagship store in Times Square, calling the massive project ‘the ultimate product placement’ that is ‘sure to be felt across the country.’

Thursday marked the first day that the eatery – located at the corner of 45th & Broadway – was open for business and the new store is expected to be the busiest in the United States. 

Designed by Landini Associates and Progressive AE, the three-story location serves as the showcase for latest updates that McDonald’s hopes to bring to its stores. 

‘The three-story glass curtain wall provides customers with spectacular dining room views out into the heart of Times Square,’ McDonald’s said in a release. ‘Customers will notice hints of gold and red to celebrate our brand with a modern twist.’

The 11,199 sq ft restaurant will implement 18 digital kiosks for self ordering and will also be capable of handling mobile order and pay. 

There will even be self-order kiosks on the second floor for customers who may want to add on to their dining experience.

It’ll be one of the only McDonald’s to offer table service and will be able to seat 173 patrons in a ‘variety of arrangements.’ 

The McDonald’s billboard is a staggering 9,280 sq ft – the 3rd-largest in Times Square.

In addition to all the in-store perks, the new flagship location will also be handling deliveries.

The restaurant will also be one of the United States location that is adopting the ‘Worldwide Favorites Menu,’  slated for a June 5th release for a limited time. 

Included will be some international favorites: the Stroopwafel McFlurry from the Netherlands, the Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger from Spain, the Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich from Canada and Cheesy Bacon Fries from Australia.   

‘While the flagship showcases the ultimate McDonald’s experience, we’ve been delivering new levels of convenience, personalization and service throughout the U.S. since 2016,’ said McDonald’s U.S. President, Chris Kempczinski.

Kempczinski emphasized that the renovation was about ‘changing customer perception.’ 

He added: ‘With this restaurant renovation, our food is positioned in the center of the cultural hotbed that is New York City – in a beautifully designed space that can be replicated across the US. It’s the ultimate product placement and the effect is sure to be felt across the country.’ 

‘At the end of the day, this restaurant renovation is the physical and symbolic embodiment of Bigger, Bolder Vision 2020 coming together. And that’s something we can all celebrate.’ 

McDonald’s already has two locations in Times Square that are both 24 hours – one on 220 West 42nd Street and the other at 1560 Broadway near 46th Street.
