Big Brother could RETURN says TV expert… after footage of abandoned house goes viral

Big Brother last aired on Channel Nine back in 2014, but the reality series could potentially make a comeback.

TV expert David Knox has claimed that the reality series may return, thanks to footage of the now abandoned and derelict Big Brother house going viral.

The video, circulating YouTube, has drummed up nearly 1 million views in less than a week and TV Tonight’s Knox claims the surge in popularity could prompt a revival.

Knox said the sheer number of views the footage has generated is evidence to network executives that there is still a huge ‘audience interest’ in Big Brother.

He said Channel 10 had considered bringing the show back last year, but the ‘costs proved too restrictive’ when it came to putting their plans into fruition.

Although, he did add: ‘If there’s any show I continually see people asking to [be] revived, it’s this one.’

Big Brother’s final series aired five years ago and was won by housemate Ryan Ginns, before it was cancelled by the Nine Network.

The show, hosted by the likes of Sonia Kruger and Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, was filmed at its Dreamworld compound on the Gold Coast for its entire run.

However, since it’s been taken off air, the Big Brother house has been abandoned and is now in ruins.

‘The persons were no longer at the site upon arrival.’
