Now eyebrows have been raised once again after Sunday night’s show saw a plastic bottle accidentally make its way onto set and was seen poking out from behind the leg of Sam Tarly, played by John Bradley.

‘LMAOOO I CAN’T BREATHE THEY DID IT AGAIN First Starbucks now a water bottle this show is a joke #GameOfThrones #GameOfThronesFinale #TheFinalEpisode.’ One fan wrote, leading the troops.

Fans were nervously waiting for the group to come to a conclusion on what should happen to Jon Snow (Kit Harington) after he stabbed his lover Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) to death.

As well as deliberating Snow’s fate, Tyrion took charge to name Bran the Broken as the new king to rule over Westeros.

But viewers were distracted by the bottle of water that was peeping out from behind Sam’s leg in another blunder to plague season eight.

Tense moment: So no wonder fans raised their eyebrows when they spotted a plastic bottle which was barely shielded by John Bradley's leg while he was in character as Sam Tarly

More familiar with a horn of ale than a coconut cappuccino, Jon and Daenerys appeared oblivious to the offending cup.

It was placed on one of the hall’s long trestle-tables as their raucous celebrations kicked off the episode.

But the gaffe was not lost on viewers who promptly expressed their disbelief on social media. Taking to Twitter, one wrote: ‘So this is where we’re at now! A Starbucks cup!’

‘Without you I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you for giving me this chance all those years ago. And finally to the fans. Thank you for falling in love with these characters and supporting this show right through till the end. I’ll miss this more than anything,’ she concluded.

‘Finding the words to write this post has left me overwhelmed with how much I want to say but how small words feel in comparison to what this show and Dany have meant to me,’ the actress began.

‘The mother of dragons chapter has taken up the whole of my adult life. This woman has taken up the whole of my heart. I’ve sweated in the blaze of dragon fire, shed many tears at those who left our family early, and wrung my brain dry trying to do Khaleesi and the masterful words, actions (and names) I was given, justice,’ she added.

‘Game of Thrones has shaped me as a woman, as an actor and as a human being. I just wish my darling dad was here now to see how far we’ve flown,’ she continued.

‘But to you, dear kind magical fans, I owe you so much thanks, for your steady gaze at what we’ve made and what I’ve done with a character that was already in the hearts of many before I slipped on the platinum wig of dreams. Without you there is no us. And now our watch has ended,’ she concluded.

John Bradley, who has played Samwell Tarly since the first season, took to Instagram on Sunday morning to share the first ‘rehearsal and prep schedule’ for the first season, which he recently unearthed.

‘So tonight we have our very last episode. It’s the final step of a long and wonderful journey. A journey that, for me, started at 10am on Monday 19th of July 2010,’ Bradley began.

‘I know this because recently I found my rehearsal and prep schedule for season 1, week 1. This was given to me when I landed in Belfast for the first time, weeks before we even started shooting. Listed here is the rehearsal where I first met Kit, and the first time I wore the costume that’s seen me through 8 seasons,’ Bradley continued.

‘I’m glad I kept this. I met so many people that week who have come to mean so much to me. Back then we couldn’t have known the journey we’d go on together. I wouldn’t swap that experience, or those people, for the world. Enjoy the episode and thanks for everything,’ he concluded, along with three heart emojis.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau decided to post a video to his Instagram, where he shared his thoughts about the series finale episode.

Several cast members also sat down with People, to share their thoughts about their final day on the set, filming Game of Thrones.

‘It was exciting and sad and overwhelming,’ she said. ‘Being a part of Thrones has undoubtedly brought more opportunity than I’d ever dreamt of and for that I am eternally grateful.’

Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, said she tried to hold off on crying for as long as possible.

”I remember thinking that I wasn’t going to humiliate myself by crying,’ she said. ‘Because they filmed it for the behind-the-scenes documentary.’

Sophie Turner said she remembered crying quite a bit on her final day, after her final take of the series.

‘I remember just crying and crying and crying,’ said Turner. ‘I think the most memorable thing was that I knew that [the end] was coming so I was waiting for them to say, ‘Cut.’ They would say ‘Cut!’ and I would think, ‘Oh my God this is it,’ and I’d start crying. And then they’d say, ‘Moving on to the next setup.’ And then I’d have to be like, ‘Okay. Keep it together. Keep it together.’ I just remember just being on the edge of tears all day.’
