British males spend average of £760-a-year on ‘essentials’ such as face masks and anti-wrinkle cream

Two in three men admit they have their own ‘beauty regime’, including using face masks, skin toner and anti-wrinkle cream, a study has found.

A poll of 1,000 people found that British males spend an average £760-a-year on ‘essentials’ to keep their skin in tip-top condition.

Amazingly, men said they spent longer on their skincare routine than women, with men taking 23 minutes, compared to women, who take an average of 17 minutes.

The study found that the top skincare products bought by men include facial washes and scrubs – which nearly half, 44 per cent, admitted using – and face masks, which 37 per cent use regularly.

One in five men also uses skin toners and the same number said that they use make-up remover to clean ‘product’ from their faces.

The study, by natural skincare brand Nuxe, also found that the men were inspired to use various lotions and potions by their mums rather than their partners – with more than half saying their mothers got them into the routine.
