Meghan and Harry have posted an adorable new photo of baby Archie Harrison today, believed to have been taken at the couple’s home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
The adorable single image shows two tiny feet being held by a hand, believed to be the Duchess of Sussex’s, with forget-me-nots – Princess Diana’s favourite flower – clearly visible in the background.
The image celebrates Mother’s Day, which is being marked in the US today. Posted just before 2:30pm (BST), the image has already been viewed more than 70,000 times.
Prince Harry and Meghan posted this photo to their Sussex Royal Instagram account this afternoon, the photo appears to show Archie Harrison’s feet being held by the Duchess of Sussex’s hand
The couple, pictured last week with their new arrival – Archie Harrison, who was born on May 6th at 5:26am – paid tribute to mothers ‘past, present and mothers-to-be’ in the touching post
Accompanying the image of Archie’s feet, which are rapped in a pristine woolen blanket, is the message: ‘Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honour and celebrate each and every one of you.’
The heartfelt missive continues: ‘Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.’
The Sussex Royal account also quotes a poem Lands, by Nayyirah Waheed, in the caption of the sweet image.
Meghan previously posted the poet’s work on her now defunct personal account in 2017, to mark International Women’s Day.
The Duchess shared a screenshot of the poem which includes the lines: ‘I will tell you, my daughter / of your worth / not your beauty / everyday (your beauty is a given. every being is born beautiful) / knowing your worth/ can save your life.’
She captioned the post ‘to always knowing your worth’.
