Meghan Markle’s brother Tom Markle Jr has urged his sister to heal the rift with their father as he welcomes the new royal baby into the world
Meghan’s brother expressed his joy at the birth of his sister’s new baby boy, but added that he would like her to reach out to her estranged father because he was ‘terrified’ that Thomas Markle Sr would never meet his grandson.
The new royal baby, who is seventh in line to the throne, was born at 5:26am this morning weighing 7lbs 3oz.
Tom Markle ,53, offered his congratulations to the Sussexes and said in an interview with The Sun online: ‘All newborn babies bring entire families happiness and joy – they can even bring broken families back together again.
‘Hopefully this baby will help mend the family rift – we’d all love to meet the baby and become a part of his life – especially my dad,’ he said.
‘Hopefully she won’t be unfair and withhold him from everybody – I hope she’ll reach out and make the baby a part of everybody’s life’

Markle Jr continued: ‘Meghan is his favourite little girl and he’s treasured her from day one up until now – and he would treasure his grandchild.’
Both Meghan and her father have not spoken since the former actor’s wedding with Prince Harry last year.
Tom Markle Jr implored his sister to think about her motherhood in the hope that she might find a way to repair her relationship with her father.
