Former Bachelorette star Courtney Dober shares photos of himself on top of Mount Kilimanjaro

Courtney Dober is quite the adventurer.

The 33-year-old former Bachelorette star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a series of photos from his recent climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

In the photos, Courtney – who first rose to fame on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette in 2016 – can be seen proudly standing at the mountain’s summit.

Another photo shows him with his arms outstretched while standing on a rock, the clouds beneath him.

Others show him preparing to undergo his trek up the world famous mountain, which stands at 5895 metres above sea level.

Courtney is also seen resting in a tent during his undoubtedly grueling hike.

‘I’ve climbed a few things before (mainly fences into the pub) but Kilimanjaro was certainly a milestone!’ he wrote on Instagram.

‘A few pics from an unforgettable experience. The last one means the most,’ he added, sharing a photo of the view from the mountain’s peak.

But Courtney admitted one of his friends on the hike, Allie, didn’t make it all the way up to the top.

‘Unfortunately the altitude took it’s [sic] toll on one of my team mates, @appalachianallie, with only 200m left to climb… no one deserved to stand on top of that mountain more than she did,’ he continued.

‘She trusted me with a small, sentimental piece of herself and father and now it sits comfortably ontop [sic], overlooking Africa. You’ll get there Al, and I’m keen to do it again! #Kilimanjaro #Tanzania #Africa’.

‘Couldn’t be more excited to have joined this expedition! Do you think hiking Runyon Canyon [in Los Angeles] was enough training for the highest freestanding mountain in the world!? Surely…’ he joked.

He first announced he would be participating in the challenging hike on Instagram on March 22.

Courtney admitted it was something he’s always wanted to do, but said it took an entire village to finally get him there.

‘Fulfilling dreams takes dedication, intense training, strict dieting & rarely seen extreme natural athletic ability,’ he began.

‘I’m heading to Africa to complete a bucketlist dream – climbing Mt Kilimanjaro! I’d like to thank – my huge legs which will make this hike a walk in the park, my sponsor Blu’s @Pledgeworld who are providing not only a 5 star Michelin Chef so I eat like a champion but also 2 sherpas (one for my luggage and the other for my ego).

‘And finally my mum who taught me “there ain’t no mountain hiiiiiigh enough” (to climb I think she meant… she may have just been singing… What an inspirational woman.) This ones for you mumsy! Wish me luck, here we go!!’
