She’s promoting her new FX series Fosse/Verdon.
And ahead of the show’s premiere on Tuesday night Michelle Williams made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in New York.
The 38-year-old actress arrived in a wool shift dress with ankle-tie black stilettos and a beige trench coat.

The former Dawson’s Creek star was camera ready with a pop of scarlet lipstick.
She stars as Broadway dancer Gwen Verdon in the new FX series Fosse/ Verdon opposite Sam Rockwell who plays choreographer and directer Bob Fosse.
Fosse/Verdon is based on the Sam Wasson biography Fosse and has Lin-Manuel Miranda as one of its executive producers.
The series tells the story of the romantic relationship and creative collaboration between the choreographer and the stage star.

Together they revolutionized Broadway musicals although it is Fosse whose name has become iconic as Verdon’s faded.
‘It’s fun to correct the record with her, and what her contribution to his choreography involved,’ the actor said. ‘This show will hopefully do that.’
He went on: ‘They were sort of connected at the hip. It’s even more than a love story, it’s like a symbiotic thing that they have.’

Meanwhile, Williams has gushed about working with Rockwell on the project which required both of them to learn choreography and dance to a high level.
‘I feel like we have a real partnership with true equality,’ she said.
‘We always check in with each other: “Is there something that I can do for you? Are you getting what you need from me in this scene?” He shares the space, which they don’t all do,’ she explained.
Fosse and Verdon were married from 1960 to 1987, the year of Fosse’s death although they had in fact separated in 1971.
Verdon passed away in 2000.
The couple’s daughter Nicole, 56, served as a co-executive producer and creative consultant on the eight-episode FX series which premieres Tuesday night.
