Kendall Jenner had ‘faith’ in the Fyre Festival despite not knowing much about doomed event

She’s was part of the promotional team of influencers who sparked an interest in the ill-fated Fyre Festival.

And Kendall Jenner admitted that she didn’t know much about the doomed event in a recent New York Times piece released this weekend.

The 23-year-old model, who was reportedly paid $250,000 for a promotional post, said she had ‘faith’ in the event – which included posts from pals Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and Emily Ratajkowski – despite very little information surrounding the festival.

‘You get reached out to by people to, whether it be to promote or help or whatever, and you never know how these things are going to turn out, sometimes it’s a risk,’ she said.

Kendall frequently uses her massive social media following as a platform to collaborate with businesses and brands. 

‘I definitely do as much research as I can, but sometimes there isn’t much research you can do because it’s a starting brand and you kind of have to have faith in it and hope it will work out the way people say it will,’ she said.

She admitted that ‘you never really know what’s going to happen’ when working with any given brand, but that she did ‘learn from the experience.’

The luxury music festival cultivated by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule was heavily promoted by models and influencers, with fans flocking to purchase tickets to the exclusive event in the Bahamas in April-May 2017. 

Months before the event was to take place, a slew of famous faces were paid to promote the music-filled weekends.

Kendall signed up to be the new face of ProActiv earlier this year, a secret deal that Kris Jenner had coined her daughter’s ‘most raw story’ during promotions leading up to the big reveal.

Two documentaries about the event and its rise to becoming an all-out failure showed attendees stranded on an island without adequate food, water or shelter, much of which was live tweeted during the challenging ordeal.
