Channel Seven airs raunchy midday movie about one woman’s real-life Fifty Shades of Grey

Channel Seven appears to have subscribed to the ‘sex sells’ business model once again this week.

The network is gaining a reputation for broadcasting risqué content at lunchtime.

On Monday, it aired another raunchy midday movie about one woman’s real-life Fifty Shades of Grey experience.

The Secret Sex Life Of A Single Mom (2014) screened in the 12pm weekday time slot.

It follows a mother-of-two, Delaine (played by Ashley Jones), who explores her sexual liberation through online dating after divorcing her verbally and emotionally abusive husband.

While the film no doubt raises eyebrows with its nudity and swearing, the broadcast is unlikely to upset industry watchdogs.

Under the existing Code of Practice for Australian free-to-air television, any material classified M can be aired on school days between 12pm and 3pm.

Interestingly, the tele-movie is based on a true story about Delaine Moore, a mother-of-three from Calgary, Canada.

She penned a book titled, The Secret Sex Life of a Single Mom about her X-rated escapades that involved going to a sex club and being handcuffed in a California hotel room by a stranger she met online.

In November last year, the Seven Network aired another racy movie, this time broadcasting the 2016 Lifetime film Manson’s Lost Girls.

It adds to the list of racy films Seven has screened during a midday weekday time slot in recent months, after it aired Borderline back in early November.

Manson’s Lost Girls follows Linda, a young woman who is lured into notorious serial killer Charles Manson’s cult during the 1960s.

Shortly after arriving at the Spahn Ranch hippie commune, Linda meets Tex, another one of Manson’s followers.

And it’s not long before Linda and Tex end up in the bedroom.

They enjoy a steamy sex session, before curling up in bed together and discussing their shared enthusiasm for the teachings of Manson.

‘He knows stuff about the world, about life, about what it means, why we’re really here…He’s full of love,’ Tex tells the seemingly naive Linda.

Despite airing in the middle of the day, the film does not appear to have breached the commercial television Code of Practice.

Manson’s Lost Girls stars MacKenzie Mauzy as Linda.

The 30-year-old actress is known for her roles in films such as Into the Woods and Girls’ Night Out.

It also stars Christian Madsen as Tex while Jeff Ward plays the enigmatic Manson.
