Oven and barbecue cleaning technician Miroslav Pavlov, revealed the beverage can also be used as an alternative to chemical cleaning products on other items around the kitchen including the oven.

‘A beer marinade will reduce the formation of harmful chemicals so soaking your kebabs, steaks and any other food for that matter won’t just give them a delicious flavour, they’ll be better for your health too!

‘I also advise people to clean their oven trays after each time they are used to ensure that there is no grease or food leftovers in the tray.’

Pouring half a can of beer inside a chicken before placing it in the oven or on the grill can make the meat juicy as the beverage evaporates.

‘This does sound like a delicious idea, but make sure you clean your oven when it’s cooled down as you don’t want a build up of grease and grime,’ warns Miroslav Pavlov.

DE-BUG GARDENS

Gardening specialist Boris recommends using multiple glasses of beer strategically placed to lure insects out.

‘It’s the sugars in beer that gets them giddy, position a few glasses of flat beer around the boundaries of your garden to keep them out.

‘They’ll not be able to resist their fate – but let’s face it, there are worse ways to go! Bugs like the stronger ales, so try using stouts if you can.’
