Saturday Night Live has saluted the women of Congress in a Charlie’s Angels inspired sketch that even earned praise from rising Democrat star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The sketch on Saturday night took note of the Congresswomen’s solidarity during the State of the Union address when the ladies of Washington all opted to wear white.
SNL’s female cast – Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant, Melissa Villaseñor, Leslie Jones, Heidi Gardner, Kate McKinnon and Ego Nwodim – all took part in the sketch.

It featured appearances from: Nancy ‘Madame Clap Back’ Pelosi, Alexandria ‘I Say What I Meme’ Ocasio-Cortez, Maxine ‘Don’t Go Chasing’ Waters and Kristen ‘Kooky Arizona Lady’ Sinema.
Ilhan ‘Get the Hi-Job Done’ Omar, Annie ‘Raise the Roof’ Kuster, Abigail ‘Say My Name, Say My Name’ Spanberger and Rashida ‘Impeach the Motherfucker’ Tlaib also made appearances.
‘They fight crime, they right wrongs, they wear white but they’re not all white and we love it,’ the narrator said.
‘They’re the women of Congress.’

But they quickly took issue with Trump seemingly taking credit for there being more Congresswomen serving now than ever before.
The SNL sketch, which is likely to become a recurring theme on the show, seemed to draw praise from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The freshman Congresswoman retweeted SNL’s video of the sketch and said: ‘Love it’.
