During the audition, Leanne revealed she lived in the North Kensington block with her partner Joseph and her young son.

Following her performance, Simon raved: ‘You should be very proud. It’s really important what you just did because it’s easy to forget something like that with everything that’s going on in the world.

‘For everyone who lost their lives and had all this crap thrown at them, you’ve had the courage to come out here and pay tribute. You did something very special for them and for you.’

TV presenter Amanda, 47, added: ‘You were so terrified and so nervous but you delivered that song and it was effortless. You have a massive future ahead of you, that was stunning.’

MailOnline has contacted ITV representatives for further comment.

72 people were killed and over 70 injured in the fire at Grenfell Tower in West London on June 14 2017.

Days after the tragic incident, Simon broke down in floods of tears as he listened to the official charity single, featuring the likes of Jessie J, Rita Ora and Robbie Williams.

A source exclusively told MailOnline that the TV personality broke his steely facade and openly wept while the star-studded cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s 1970 classic Bridge Over Troubled Water played in a studio.

The source said: ‘Simon broke down in floods of tears when he thought about the victims. It was really unlike him to show that side of him.’

Simon revealed he’d donated £100,000 of his own money to the victims of the Grenfell fire, after revealing he was left feeling ‘angry and upset’ when he saw footage of the shocking inferno.

Discussing the inspiration behind his charity track at the time, he told The Mirror: ‘I felt how everyone felt when they saw the news. I was angry, upset, thinking what the hell do you do?

‘It’s not far from where I live, so when I drove up there, and you saw this tower, it wasn’t great. And that’s when you decide that maybe we could do something to help.

‘You kind of think, what can I do? Do you donate some money and I was thinking, well maybe we could do a little more than that and that’s how the record came about.

‘I have to put my money where my mouth is. In all the years of doing this I have never felt so emotional. It was unbelievably powerful and sincere.’
