Love Island star Malin Anderson’s daughter, one month, passes away

Love Island star Malin Andersson has revealed her one-month-old daughter has passed away after being hospitalised since her premature birth last month.

The reality personality took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to announce the heartbreaking news as she revealed her baby passed away the day before. 

She wrote: ‘Completely in love with you.. and my Mum just wanted you to be with her. Your time wasn’t ready yet. Mummy loves you. I stayed with you each day..

‘you opened your eyes one last time for me and I saw those beautiful big brown eyes. I’m so sorry I couldn’t do anymore. Go be with grandma Consy. My angel. Rest in peace CONSY GLORIA EMMA ANDERSSON-KEMP 23/12/18-22/01/19.’ 

Malin, who appeared on series two of the reality show in 2016, gave birth seven weeks early on December 23, breaking the news to her fans on New Year’s Day as she revealed the infant was being cared for at Great Ormond Street hospital.

Admitting the couple are ‘totally in love’ with their daughter, Malin also confirmed their name choice – Consy, after her late mother.

She penned in the accompanying caption in her original announcement: ‘Happy New Year.. Tom and I are so happy to let you all know that our baby girl CONSY arrived in this world 23rd December 2018, seven weeks early.

Consy’s name was a tribute to Malin’s mother with the name, following her sad passing in November 2017. The reality star’s mum battled breast cancer twice since 2001 before the cancer spread for a third time.

Tragically, Malin’s father died from skin cancer after battling the disease twice.

Sharing a moving tribute to her mother at the time, wrote: ‘2am last night Heaven took you.. You didn’t deserve the pain you were in, cancer 3 times.. It wasn’t fair on you. I watched you take your final breath…

‘I stayed with you right until the very end and you looked so peaceful. You’re with Dad now.. just know I love you unconditionally. RIP.’
