Layton Police said that a 17-year-old girl was driving down Utah’s Layton Parkway on Monday when she decided to cover her eyes with her beanie to participate in the so-called ‘Bird Box Challenge’ and immediately lost control of her grey truck.

‘Bird Box Challenge while driving…predictable result,’ Layton Police wrote in a tweet that included pictures of the two cars involved in the crash.
‘This happened on Monday as a result of the driver covering her eyes while driving on Layton Parkway. Luckily no injuries,’ the post continued.
The 17-year-old girl was said to have had a 16-year-old male passenger in the truck with her. It’s unclear how many people were in the SUV.
Police said that the teen initially told authorities that the crash occurred because she was talking to her friend and gotten distracted,

The challenge has seen people being filmed doing a variety of every day things blindfolded, including walking into walls and down streets. One YouTube star also filmed himself driving while blindfolded.
The challenge prompted Netflix to issue a warning tweet on January 2.
