The Duchess of Cambridge, 37, went on maternity leave on 22 March last year, a month before the birth of Prince Louis on 23 April.
Meghan looked radiant as she returned to work yesterday following the festive break, paying a visit to the headquarters of women’s charity Smart Works in London.
The appearance – announced just hours beforehand – came after the royal was announced as the new patron of the organisation.
Keeping busy: Meghan, who is in her third trimester, is reportedly planning to work right up until her due date. Pictured, the royal at a solo engagement in Twickenham last month
She was also named as patron of three other charities, including the National Theatre.
On Monday the Duchess of Sussex will join her husband, 34, for a number of engagements in Merseyside.
The duke and duchess will visit Tomorrow’s Women Wirral, an organisation that supports women in vulnerable circumstances.
Two days later they will attend their first evening engagement of the year – a charity performance of TOTEM.
Night out: Harry and Meghan make an appearance on Wednesday to watch Cirque du Soleil’s TOTEM at the Royal Albert Hall, to raise money for Harry’s charity Sentebale. It comes after the success of a gala performance of Hamilton in August last year, pictured
The evening will mark the second event in a series of ‘Sentebale Nights’. The first saw Harry and Meghan attend a gala performance of hit musical Hamilton in August last year.
Once again the event will benefit Sentebale, which helps youth affected by HIV in southern Africa.
Founded in 2006 by The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso, Sentebale helps the most vulnerable children in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi – the victims of extreme poverty and the HIV/AIDS epidemic – get the support, tools and education they need to lead long, healthy and productive lives.
